Had them in mind for ages but finance wouldn't cough up, same concern about brackets myself. Look cool for sure.

Looks good is two brackets enough? Wonder if you need another bracket behind on the lower bar?

There is a flat bracket at the front of the box also.
In total each box is held in position by 6 x m8 bolts, 4 x m10 bolts and 8 self tapping screws.
I think it should be quite sucure.

same thought @davemc although, maybe two brackets because of the length

my like lots

what was the cost? if you dont mind me asking?
Cost was $430.00 per box, quite expensive for a tool box but they match the factory checker plate and fit the spot perfect.
Looked at getting some custom boxes made and that was going to cost a little less but I dont think they would have looked as good.

Because I now have the storage tool boxes on the side on the van that has allowed me to clear some room in the front storage boot to put the weber baby Q .
The weber was about 50mm to tall to fit in to the side door so I have removed the plastic leg/frame assembly and have made a new steel base for the weber. I am also thinking of making a sliding arm so I can just slide it out the boot and start cooking.

Here is a picture of the frame for the weber to sit in, It also has to locate the ignition and the flame control knob.

Still have to make the sliding arm and mount it all up so will post more pics soon.

And you are going to say it was very easy to make? As my neighbor says, everything is easy: IF YOU KNOW HOW!

Was not hard, just takes a lot of time. Measuring and measuring again, putting it all together and pulling it all apart many times.
Just to make this weber frame properly took about 4 hours and its not finished yet and that does not include the hours I lay in bed just thinking and planning how to build it.

Thats the thing that does your head in I reckon....................walked out to the shed today and started a big mod on Big Mal, all going smoothly, so far but then it was been rattling around in my head for months, go to sleep thinking about it and wake up with a change of plan then suddenly....."It's Time"..................I do like those boxes, don't care for the price but they look damn good..

Got the tool boxes through Australian Caravan Co. (All RV parts and Accessories) in Adelaide. Ph 08 8293 1000
Part number on receipt is JAC1057L storage box 700mm sikverline outback.

Hope this helps as it was quite an effort for me to get the parts department to find them.

Cheers

I have decided not to make the BBQ slide out of the boot as that would mean that I would have to leave the boot door open whilst I have the BBQ out.
So I am now making a slide out bar that will support the BBQ that will slide out from the chassis frame. That way I will just have to remove the BBQ from the boot and put it on the frame and I can then shut the boot door and leave the BBQ out.

This is the start of the slide tube.

Did a bit more on the BBQ slide tonight.
Made up a base plate with drip tray holder
20170505_221428.jpg 20170505_221439.jpg 20170505_221434.jpg 20170505_221413.jpg
Also made the L shaped slidind arm.
20170505_221303.jpg 20170505_221234.jpg 20170505_221226.jpg

The base plate sits on sliding arm and can be positioned in 4 directions to suit best wind direction.

All the way in and packed up for the night.
20170505_231207.jpg

Just have to make up some sort of pin to lock tha sliding arm in the closed and open positions and then send it all off to the galvanisers.

Welded a nut and made up a T bolt to put a bit of tension on the slide out bar to stop a bit of the wobble. Works well.
