we are adding and taking weight from the van once delivered, so have to see - as said i will post the weights before and after mods. i travelled u the centre with all the mods last year in my 18.57.9 which weighs almost the same??? dont know how it does. right on 2500 for towing. drove great. petrol, not desiel. fuel consumption under 20 ltr per 100. the h frame has been added for the second aircon, but the unit not added unil i change the towing rig. really australia sucks for the prado, outside australia its 3000kg towing and inside aus is 2500kg. yet i have seen later patrols bend there chassie with towing, and not even there rated capacity. also the navaras bending as well. ???

we are away for 4 weeks from the 28th dec, then away 3 months from jul, and smaller trips in between. 6 of us. i also run a business from the van, so mobile office as well. so all the mods and cons will be used. july is up the centre and down the west coast. want to do cape york later next year as well, hence why we have roof top tent.

Hi Adam,
Thought I add this pic taken recently to help you estimate the Tare & Ball weights.

I see you are looking to change over your 150 Prado to pull the new van. We are considering upgrading to to 20.63-1 (non outback) but with slider. Our 120 Prado is fine for our 16.49.1 but if we buy the 20.63-1 I'll be looking at a low km 200 Series Diesel Land Cruiser. Makes the step up expensive!!!!

see what the weights come in at. we have towed up around the 3 tonne mark with the 150. breaks well, handles great, pulls great.
if the van comes in at 2200 or less, we will not upgrade the prado. been all over australia, never had a problem when we were over weight.
Not something I would be advertising on a forum. Illegal and potentially unsafe, apart from insurance issues.
I would seriously reconsider this.

*Try posting a bit more so your post isn't boring* knowing you are over weight with insurance companies the way they look for an out is very risky. Is it worth losing everything if you have a bingle?

we have been talking to jeep, and they are saying that later this year or early next year it is due out here. as for the weights, have to wait to see when it is delivered. i know that standard jayco say the van is 1995kg - not the outback version.
The Grand Wagoneer has been delayed in the US until 2015, so it won't be here until at least then or 2016 is my guess. See cut and paste below...

Grand Wagoneer: Development of the seven-passenger Grand Wagoneer was delayed two years to 2015 to give a re-engineered Dodge Durango time to find an audience. Jeep still wants the Grand Wagoneer to compete with the Cadillac Escalade and Lexus LX in the large premium SUV segment.

Hi Adam, You mention in your list an Annex. Is it a Jayco one or a third party? If it is a third party do you know the make?
We are looking at the 21.64-1 as well, now that we found your plans. (thanks for that)......DSP
