Totally agree. Our violin has only been used twice and can't imagine what we'd be like with bagpipes.

I hate to think. Might vacate any camping area myself if we try that combination.

I also have heaps of Mr Dusty, can really get people going.............but I like Slim so it gets cranked up, too............................( be carefull with your replies phylistines, I have a marksman's badge still current.)
Them's fighting words. Be thankful that Howard enforced a buyback. Spent a year in Katherine NT in the 70's and when ever the front bar was open in the Crossways Hotel he was about the only song played on the jukebox. Only slightly better than being forced to listen to Ted Egan's songs, particularly in Alice Springs.

talking of Bagpipes

many eons ago, we were camped in the forests near Dwellingup, and it was Easter
we got there Friday afternoon, set up, no worries
kids are playing - all under 10 at the time, having a fat old time we were

then some tossers pulled up next to us (about 10 young DH's)
out with death thrash shyte music all freaking night............. lots of people asked them to please turn it down at Midnight, nah, these guys turned it up louder
a few people packed up and left, Ranger disappeared
noise went on until 3am

any how
next morning, just as the sun is coming up (about 5.00am), we get a tap on the door
"excuse me mate, I know you had a rough night with the ones next door, can we help????"

well, ofcourse mate, go right ahead, we are all up as you can see...will it take long you think???

"No Sir, I think just a few songs

it was the Western Australian Police Pipe Band standing just outside my Jayco

they had been camped about 100yards away, heard it all last night, and decided they would do us ALL a favour by playing Amazing Grace, Black Bear & Waltzing Matilda

mate you should have seen these tossers come roaring out and stop dead in their tracks once they saw the Uniforms

funny as well, they ALL got pickup up for speeding & reckless driving & DUI when they left

ahhh, was a sight to see

This one may amuse. Find a nice sand bank on the Murray near Toke, set up and relax, all alone, Beauty ! Late afternoon camper trailer drives past sets up 400 mts down river,ok. He and his mate get out the old worksite genny, the noisy one with the tube frame etc and start walking towards our camp letting out lead as they go. They get to 25 mts from our camp and begin setting it up. A joke I think, over I go, " nice day guys, what are you doing ? " Just setting up the genny they say. " I have a suugestion, why not put it 375 metres behind your camp ? " Oh no they say cars will then run over our lead " I realize they are seriously stupid so time for stronger suggestion. " if I was you I would put it there or on the other side of your camp or I will put 375 mts that way, pointing to the river " Surprised and grumbling they carry it back and put it on the other side of their camp. I kid you not !
