Can be fitted anywhere there is enough room, if I get around to put another in I will put it up front. The only issue is having long enough arms to open and close it from the side without having to climb in from behind. I can reach quiet easily with my gadget arms.
There has been a bit of debate of wether it works better at the front but I reckon at the end of the day the same amount of air enters the space but just doesn't flow as much from front to rear. Since most times you are trying to stop dust from the back it makes negligible difference. Been working fine so far but haven't travelled hundreds of ks in bulldust either. I would more than likely add another when I have a trip like that coming up to get twice the amount of air in there
