@burnsie those first two pics remind me of my current 120 and previous 100 series ;)

But the best thing is..... A "Big Thank You" :clap2: for the solar screen link as I have been looking for them for ages and I can tell Mrs Dagree it's your fault ;)
@burnsie and @dagree I saw on their website that Ultimate 4x4 are stockists. Went yesterday for a looksie seeing as though they are pretty close, but they shut at 12 and we got there at 1pm. If I get time I will go on Tuesday and let you know if they have them.

Happy Easter !

I ordered mine online through the website, I previously spoke to the guys at Ultimate 4x4 some time back but they didn't stock too many models, as these things are custom made per window shape etc for each vehicle, they were more than happy to order them in though.

As a guide they have a number of different sets available

Touring Set (All rear glass behind the front doors) (RECOMMENDED - MOST 4x4 CUSTOMERS CHOOSE THIS SETUP)

Cargo Set (Generally the luggage space)

Cab Set (Generally the windscreen and front doors)

Full Set – All windows and Glass

Post and Handling is an additional ($10.00 S/E QLD, $15 Rest of QLD) ($20 NSW & VIC) ($25.00 TAS, SA, WA & NT). All prices include GST.

More info here

Searched far and wide for something like this, ordered mine last week so they should arrive later this week (got the touring set), will let you all know what they are like.

Once again no affiliation with these guys but one of the only places I have found that do them so thought it would be worth a mention

Cheers

I was talking to the rep last weekend at the camping show. He said in my 2.8L Prado I will get close to 550nm, and available really early too. They had dyno numbers so their number measurements are at the wheels so show less then the factory numbers but was a 21% increase on the baseline numbers.
I'm seriously considering it.

yeah they are a good unit @Jimbo , when I got mine there are two versions, one with a boost option and the other is the normal one, you need the boost model only if you are going to add a bigger exhaust as it will play around with the ECU setup and go into limp mode otherwise the boost controller can adjust and sort it out. I went with the normal one and just added a new flow through exhaust which adds just enough without all the extra setup and $$$

What size exhaust do you run? How did you decide on that one, wa there a lot of options when you were looking for exhausts?

@Jimbo stuck with the stock 2.5inch exhaust and went to the local exhaust centre from a recommendation (Wanneroo Mufflers & Exhaust Systems) and they installed a high flow muffler on for me as well as welding in a bung for the EGT gauge.

Anything more than the high flow muffler with the "standard" Steinbauer the guys were saying you might see the red light on the dash.

If you are really keen on one I would recommend having a chat to Fremantle Fuel injection, thats where I got mine installed they are a local reseller for the Steinbauer and have installed heaps with a wealth of knowledge (they answered every question I had about the system)

Hope that helps.

So nearly finished the lights and rear power panel for the Prado, just awaiting an additional 100amp midi fuse so I can connect it up to the battery, also installed a 100amp circuit breaker in the back so I can "trip it" when I don't want any little ones playing around with the switches or plugs etc.

Lets hope it all works when I connect it all up, don't really want to start troubleshooting it..... :o

Lights mounted around the roof rack, two per switch

Finally mounted a "Life Hammer" interesting device but can break glass and cut your seatbelt in an emergency, so thought I better mount one on the cargo barrier for the upcoming trip.

Getting there @burnsie :encouragement:

The good thing with doing it yourself is:
1) It's done correctly
2) It's done neatly
3) If something does go wrong (Fingers crossed it doesn't) you know where to look!!!
4) Most importantly..... The satisfaction when you flick a switch and it works :)

Thanks @dagree yeah number 3 will be interesting, I had to use a narva waterproof connector up to the roof so if something doesn't work I know where to look, but totally agree, good to do it yourself, takes longer as you learn along the way but easy to troubleshoot and sort out if required.

Looking forward to number 4 ;)

So I received my final item today to get these lights and rear fuse panel up and running

IMG_4209.JPG

Connected it up and terminated the cables to the battery and ground.

IMG_4208.JPG

The back panel got power and all the plugs and lights worked was very suprised :)

IMG_4204.JPG IMG_4202.JPG IMG_4203.JPG IMG_4201.JPG

Also tested out the circuit breaker in the rear and it shuts off power to the back panel so perfect for when we pull out the rear drawers and use the seven seats.
