I have asked for 3349kg ATM. I am flying over Tuesday for a Wednesday pick up, fingers crossed they have the plate, cost $60 to change. He said there legal advice is it doesn't matter what the ATM is as long as you are not over your tow limit, that is in Victoria.

thanks Skippy, I tried the light weight camper trailer thing but with 2 kids and 2 more on the way I thought stuff it you only live once. I work with quite a few older blokes and they talked me into it as they wish they had of done it when they were younger and there kids were younger. They left it till they were older but now they have grandkids they still cant get away. I'm 32 so I have plenty of time to pay it off.

hey Crusty I put a 30micron filter and water trap before the factory filter. This SHOULD catch any water and keep most of the crap out of the factory filter. The factory common rail filters are around 2 or 5 micron. Ideally you would put the same filter in before the factory one and just change that one as it is only when you open up the system eg change the factory filter that you allow dirt in. This is why it is really bad to over service a fuel system. I didnt put a 2 micron pre filter in as im not sure how the electric lift pump would handle it. In saying all that had a mate that brought a brand new dual cab cruiser hooked his swan up and went around Australia 400km from home and with only 30,000km on the clock he filled up while a truck was filling up the servo tanks. 20km down the road he came to a rattle stop. Both his pre filter and factory filter were full of water. For some reason the water light didnt come up on the dash and he was stuck on the side of the road on a friday afternoon thinking he had just destroyed the engine on his 4 month old cruiser. His insurance covered the $8k bill but it was a nervous weekend trying to get all his gear home not knowing how much it way going to cost him.

Hi Shane
I am seriously looking forward to seeing the photos of your new basestation it sounds awesome.

I had a quick check for camp site in seaford on the wiki camps iPhone app. The best one for a van of your size is 12klm away in frankston.

Hope this helps you.
I agree, the Big 4 in Frankston is just down the road and is okay. DO NOT stay at the Nepean Hwy Seaford caravan parks....you'll lose your tyres >:( haa!

Ha. Your not helping to make me any more comfortable. This is where you tell a cheerie story of how everyone travelled around Australia, nobodys engine blew and we all had a wonderful time.

finally got the van whoo. Everything works and everything is there. They changed the ID plate. They fitted my batteries for me, help me install my Anderson hitch, let me borrow some mirrors as my clearviews didn't turn up in time and showed me the way to the caravan park and help me get it in. Very happy with pagebros Seaford. I would like to say the bt50 tows it like its not even there like others say about there tow vehicles, but at 3040kg with just the water tanks full holey crap its there alright.

thanks alot for the well wishes, family is enjoying the extra space over the swan. Have been busy the past few days and have just started adding some of the stuff we brought over with us. Put in my lithium solar regulator and the drifter was saying discharging but at only half the amps the reg was putting out. So I pulled the cover off the batteries, shock horror, that is going to take some work to clean up and label. They only had one battery connected to the shunt and all the other earths besides one connected to the 2nd battery, so that was a easy fix. I also asked for the table to be extended 6" so it would finish level with the chairs. They made the table 6" bigger but then centered it so all I gained was 3" closer to being level with the chairs and 3" tighter trying to get around the back of the table :) they tried I suppose .
