Don't want to put a spanner in the works but I was out at Jayco yesterday and spoted the Jayco Starcraft 22.68-1.

Not much extra coing but alot more room bunk wise and bathroom wise.

Hmmmm what to do. I'm getting confused. Can anyone confirm if the bed in the front of the 20.63 is a, queen or double.
Ahh. Good point. I would have to assume its a double like the 17.56. That's the down side of the 17.56 as a family van . The queen bed is down at the bunk end. Being a smidge over 6 foot, it would work better for me if the "parent" end bed was a queen.

It was the same with ours, I believe it was the 16's that had the bigger bed at the rear?
Hmm OK. Must have been the 16 I was thinking of. I haven't got my 17 yet, and have to admit I didn't take really close look at this while at the show.
So on this, how the the taller members here go with the bed size in the 17?

According to the Jayco brochure the parents bed in the 16 is at the rear being 1470mm wide and in the 17 it is in the front being 1360mm wide. I asked the sales guy that I was dealing with when I order my 17.56 why this was so and he wasn't able to give me an answer. I would have thought from a production/cost perspective that you would have the bed ends (hard lids, matresses etc.) all the same across the range but this doesn't seem to be the case. So if anyone could shed some more light that would be great. But in terms of length I'm assuming there should be no difference as both the 16's and 17's have the same width - according to the brochure anyway.

PS Sorry to hijack your post Andrew with questions about 16's and 17's and yes I can see the dilemma in choosing between the 20.63 and the 22.68 Starcraft so good luck with that one.

I measured our beds in our 16.49-1 last weekend because we're thinking of doing a bed Reno with custom mattresses.
In the 16.49-1 the rear bed is the queen parents bed.
Rear bed is 1490w and front bed is 1390w. Both beds are 1840 length.
Although the front bed is smaller, Andrew and I have decided to use the front bed for us. Much better to have our girls sleep down the back rear bed.

Hi mate, we have the 18-57-6 and front is queen so I assume the 20-63 would be the same. I'm 6'4" and as bigman said there's a bit more room on the internal side of bed, I've been meaning to get some foam cut to go in the spaces top and bottom of mattress, 1 for my feet and 1 so I don't loose my pillow!

Cheers.

The amount of times I lost my pillow in the night was ridiculous :)!!
