Hi Ren77

Many thanks for your kind words. It was your story on this forum that made our minds up on the 20.63-1 model. The excitement you spoke about and the photos were awesome.

I hope to soon be able to put my own photos up of us in our shiny new panda... 5 days to go :)

Hi Dandy
We use a Merc ML350 with a tow pack conversion... It's got a 3.5t capacity and a max ball weight of 325kg. The air suspension is handy but it likes to drink the fuel.:devilish:
It will be ok for short trips but when we do a 3month+ Trip we might think about a change to the new jeep.

After a full service on the tug
After 4 new tyres
After booking forest glenn CP
After booking noosaville CP
After everything being ready for tomorrow's collection at 8am. I just got a call this evening at 4:45pm telling me that the tow bar installer is ill and can't fit it.
Then because of school holidays no other installer is available either.
The outcome is
Lost deposits on both bookings and no new expanda until next Thursday!
How do I tell the kids we are not going on holiday until next Friday
>:(>:(>:(
The best things come to those who wait... I guess

Oh no!!!!!!! What a let down for you. Are you sure the parks where you are booked won't transfer your deposit to another date if you explain the situation?

Wife is on the phone to the parks now. I'm stuck in Hobart airport at the moment, so can't pop into camperland Brisbane. But it looks like collection is defiantly Thursday next week.

Yep we have had a few set backs but it looks like it's good now. (Fingers crossed)
On the plus side we got to check out the van over last weekend and found 3 water leaks underneath and the winder handle missing in the shower.
All have been fixed before handover on Thursday.
The Merc is the petrol version and brought way before we planned on getting a expanda.
I'm hoping to see around 16L return from it. It's due for change next September and something more suited will arrive. At the moment I'm thinking the jeep grand Cherokee seems the best value.

It has arrived!!! And is now at home.
1st lesson learnt: ensure you have a 15a plug socket at home, so you can plug it in to get the fridge cold for tomorrows trip....bugger.

Pretty little thing isn't it? just run the fridge on gas it actually works better anyway, make sure the van in level though no matter what you run it on
