Thought I'd do some maintenance to figure why the rear water tank was sooo slow to fill...aha...

I found Jayco's way of making straight hoses go around corners!

My last Jayco used to handle poorly when I emptied the rear tank, I couldn’t figure it out because my expanda used to handle better with the rear tank empty? One day I checked the plumbing and you can only imagine what I found, the filler was back to front so they changed the gauge to suit, I’m thinking the back tanks empty but alas it was the front tank, sensational quality control!!

I too was perplexed initially when I bought this van, as the filler necks for the water tanks are back to front too...the front filler fills the rear tank where the rear filler fills the front tank...you wonder was it intentional or just another Jayco brain fade...

I cut that bent hose and installed a $10 elbow...tank fills easily now...

Truly classic Dave................:D ............... when I first got Big Mal, would empty one tank but the next tank would be empty quickly, once I had a good look the tank filler was half way up the side of the tanks and since the tanks were plumbed together when you emptied one tank you had actually drained off half the other tank .. the supply side had a line and tap for each tank but filled from the one inlet...........

When the van got the hail damage repair, I'm so lucky I'm such a trusting soul, I checked everything out, if not I would have filled up the inside as they never connected the fill points to the tanks, just opened up into a cupboard ..................

@Drover my newish van, it’s 7 years old now!!! They had both tanks joined together, when I had plumbing problems I isolated each tank which meant fitting a double filler. I also fitted a new mains inlet one of those round jobbies with the pressure valve, I also made the tanks fillable from the drain with a hose. I amazed myself too. Then I continued and did the well documented lithium/ solar upgrade, bluddy he’ll you can chuck money at these things!!!
