you cannot rush these things

I know heaps of people who have spent big dollars getting stuff fitted - then find its not quite what they want - then spend more money on getting what they wanted originally

And me too.

Many friends have said they wish they'd held back rather than get caught up in the thrill of getting everything possible, rather than what was really needed.

One has a lot of stuff for sale as he doesn't really need it!

And I don't need it either so can't justify grabbing a bargain.

:clap2:

@bigcol yes cant rush these things, and have fitted it all myself so I know where to look if something doesn't work.
@burnsie cant wait for the trip but hope the treds just stay on the roof;)
yes do have a compressor but not built in.

couple more things to do now
Swap the power feed to the van to the aux battery, then dont have to worry so much if i forget to disconnect.
Run power to the back for the fridge
install the parallel overide switch for the redarc and maybe some nice battery gauges.

I thought about it - once - @dagree
Once more than some ;)

but decided just to hook it to aux battery - along with Engels in the car & stereo & DVD players and.........
Mine is hooked up to the aux battery (Now) but fitted the low voltage cutout switch incase the lunch stops :very_drunk: and the touristy stops :yo: lasted more than a couple of hours when it was connected to to the starter battery!!

Hi @dagree I did look into a motion switch but havent really thought about it seriously since.
Just made sure I unplugged when staitonary.

Thinking I may see how I go with all the non vehicle stuff off the aux similar to @bigcol .
His setup sounds pretty much like what I had planned with the exception of the stereo I will leave the car systems as they are and any additions will go on the aux fuse box.
Spotties will remain on the main battery though as I only need them when I have headlights on and car really needs to be running fornthat anyway.

Also just heard from caravanland regarding the roof skirt zip fix.
It will be a whole new skirt as the zip teeth dont align in one panel.
Resewing would have left additional holes in the material and the heating and coercing the zip to align hasnt worked so caravanland have ordered a new skirt.
Once again very happy with the after sales service.

I should clarify that
main power feed for spotlight relay comes from Aux battery - still switched through High beam though

stereo head unit is through main wiring
everything else is through Aux battery

I have 1 fuse box under glove box
and 1 fuse box on cargo barrier
the fridge wiring to the rear is a separate feed from aux battery

Last night another midnight adventure.
Ran a 6 and s cable from auxiliary battery to the rear cargo space in the prado.
Installed a socket for the fridge.
Might install some other stuff back there some time later.
Then ran a cable for twin usb chargers in the console.
All working well and only afew hours work.
Will drop some pics in when I take them tonight.
Hopefully extension mirrors will arrive today and that will be tonights job

dont forget to put a fuse on the battery end of your fridge wire

anything and everything attached to your battery should be through a fuse

but you knew that already, I hope,..................

if you have room under your bonnet, you could fit something like this Baintech Fuse holder
Baintech fuse box.JPG
1 main feed in
1 earth line in
plenty of goods to run off.........
