@Marv_mart
Total dist: 10,329km using 1527l of Diesel at an average cost of 171.91c/l or $2625.28 in total.
Most expensive was at Erldunda at 210.1c/l, cheapest at 145.9c/l at Pinnaroo
Average Fuel Efficiency over the whole trip was 14.7l/100km

They are some pretty impressive figures, hope i can get down to those sort of ones. What speed did you mainly sit on? I sat on 95 on the speedo which according to the gps was 90. Also do you tow in the sports mode? Ive been told by a auto tranny guru to tow in that and never go into over drive. I did a little test when on the move and slipped it into sixth to see if the economy changed, it stayed pretty much the same. So I will stick to his advice.
Sat on 95-100 except on the Bruce Highway where I decided sitting with the traffic was better than going slower so sat on 100 or what ever the speed limit was, 110 in some areas. FE went up a bit but felt safer on the road.
That is except for the person trying to do 120+ trying to pass trucks etc and other traffics over double white lines etc. the truckies were calling out for the 'Bears' to pick him up giving continual updates re his position. Listening in on the CB on the truckies channel makes for a more interesting drive!!
PS: Also automatic and cruise control on the flat bits and changed out of CC when it got hilly so I could keep the revs to 1750rpm or there abouts.

Postponing our planned trip to the Kimberley's this year is disappointing, been cold and wet here for weeks now.
Have a big distraction tho, pulling out our old kitchen ready for a refit in two weeks helps. Still, will do the trip next winter with some minor ones in between. Panda hasn't been out of storage now since short March trip to MacLaren Vale! :(

Hi Kate, with the bunks, I just use a bottom fitted sheet and a Doona. I fold the sides of the Doona underneath itself to make it neater, I hope this makes sense

Great tip. I just wondered if I could ask, we are awaiting delivery of our Startcraft Outback in October and my thoughts are turning to bedding etc. Does a single sheet fit perfectly or is there an overhang, I am trying to picture whether the bunk beds are the same width as a regular single bed. Thanks.

Hey @Willow4, the bunk beds are narrower than a standard single bed, but I just tuck the fitted sheets underneath, no probs. you can also buy straps that clip underneath the mattress and attach a clip to each side of the sheet which will keep them nice and taut.
