Hi HTR,
We have had our first trip in the Panda over Xmas, and bought a weber Q220 For our first trip, on the recommendation of the forum members. It has the high lid, a little tricky getting it into the front storage but not impossible. If I didn't have two growing boys I would have gone the smaller Q. As the other guys have said cleaning was easy, heating does the trick, after 2weeks I hit with the wire brush dipped in water when the BBQ was hot and it comes up a treat. Throw the fat tray away and no smell in the van when traveling. The thing cooks like you wouldn't believe. It is our first experience and I loved the flavours. As for accessories, you will end up with all of em....start with a couple and every Xmas and birthday the accessories will grow :)
Highly recommend.

Like many others I now have the 220, hihg lid model with temp gauge. Santa thought I was a good boy and decided to give me one for Xmas.

I thought I knew how to BBQ. I was wrong. The Weber takes cooking on the BBQ to a whole new level and everyone in my clan is super impressed. I would recommend the Weber as the best BBQ available.

And very easy to clean, wet Weber brush on the grill while hot brings it up a treat. A quick wipe over inside with warm soapy water, then rinsed in cold water brings it up like new.

There is a good dealer at Carrum Downs on Frankston Dandenong Rd just past the new Masters and there is a Caravan shop a couple shops up which is handy. Masters have all the accessories but they dont sell the premium models that the dealers do. The Q's do take a while to get used to cooking with. There are some good stainless plates available on Ebay as well, better than genuine in my opinion.

As quite a few people are owners of the Weber 220, just wondering if anyone has found a handy storage place in the 17.56 model when travelling or does it just go in the back of the tug?
Also, has anyone bought a gas hose for the weber to connect to the gas bayonet? If so, what lenght was good and what price? Thanks

We also have a weber and have done everything from oysters kilpatrick to caramel, banana and chocolate dessert pizza. Can thoroughly recommend them!

Hi T_W, I have an 18-57-6 and it will fit in front boot but opt to carry in back of tug next to the waeco, reason being I usually like to give it a clean after a trip when I get home. I'd buy the 3m hose, better to be too long than too short! Plus it lets you move it (weber) around a bit more. Cost was $55 from Westlakes Gas and Welding Supplies here in Newcastle.

Cheers.

I had a hose made up at my local Supagas depot. 3 meters in length. Works a treat! Approx $60

Here a pic. Straight hose - does not need to be regulated as the gas bottles have a regulator. 3 meters in length so I can move bbq under cover if raining etc.

Great reviews all round - I'm sold. A Q220 it is then - my first weber will be purchased just in time for an Australia Day BBQ.

We have the BabyQ for the Expanda and the 220 for home. Love them both. Thanks for some great tips here! Love the Selly's BBQ cleaner idea as well as lining base with aluminum foil. :)

the 3m hose sounds good. I think we will need the extra length anyway as the gas bayonet is under the front storage compartment.
On another note, does anyone have any good ways of cleaning the Weber Q220? Quite a few people have mentioned giving it a blast with the high pressure washer but would this create issues for the gas fittings in the BBQ? I am happy to give it a go but is there anything that should be avoided or removed before cleaning?

Gameco P/L $35. You have to ask for 3/8''SAE Flare (not BSP) x 3m long. Available already manufactured.

Hi mate. I only have a babyq, but when it comes time to clean it I crank the temp to the max for about 10 mins with lid down. Once nice and hot I wet a wire brush, scrub and it comes up a treat. There are specialized weber wire brushes that you can buy, but I just use a 2 dollar bunnings one. Does the job.

Cheers.
