Well..........just before we can away we bit the bullet and got ourselves a Q220...........how good are these things!!!
We made our minds up after experimenting with the Cobb and a pizza stone. The Cobb wasn't hot enough to do the pizza well so off to the Webber dealer we went.
So easy!
Here's a taste of one dinner we've done with the local produce.......

How good is that.
Weber is getting a good workout at the beach. Roasts, steak and chops and magnificent pizzas.
Paid for itself already. Need some more pizza trays, now.
And I need to catch some fish!!

2.5kg leg of lamb last night........sensational!!!!!!
1hr/kg.......so 2.5 hrs and the veggies on for the last hour & a quarter.
Tried the veggies with and without foil and the non foiled ones were better as the foiled ones were a bit burnt on the bottom.

Well done, Turtle. I'm already convinced that we need a 220 for home now. Our BabyQ booked for pizzas tonight. Cooking for 3 adults and two young gourmets. Found some extra trays and idea is the girls can prepare their own.

My BabyQ pizza adventures were such a hit over the holidays, as was the steak/chops/roasts, etc., that my long planned project to build a wood fired pizza oven at home has now been scrapped in favor of another Weber. We also did lovely muffins, and some breakfast mini quiches and then turtles pics sealed the deal.
I successfully bid for an ExpandaQ (Weber FamilyQ 320e) on eBay at about $300 saving over new one (and $3000+ on the wood burner) so happy as. Pizza night on Wednesday and will try and remember post some pics.
SWMBO also very pleased that deck can be finally finished. Old 4 burner BBQ probably go on nature strip with "free to good home" sign.

Looks good!
Gotta feel sorry for Pizza Shop operators don't you? Why would we ever buy a store pizza again?
382191453.893671.jpgPicked up this 25cm Pizza Oven Spatula (d.line brand) to try out on Wednesday.
Also got a pizza tip from a Weber specialist today for what its worth.
Raise your pizza stone a bit higher than the Weber trivet. He suggested a few little baked bean cans (5cm high) which apparently puts your pizza right in the sweet spot of the Q. Not sure if I can eat three cans of beans by Wednesday, so might look a a bit of stainless hardware that would do similar thing.
Our Baby Q now going into Expanda permanently. Our pre-loved FamilyQ is now all set up and ready to go. Looks like new, just need to get a large trivet (and maybe a meat thermometer). Geez...now talking Weber mods.

We had a combined birthday party (disco) for my daughters at the local hall on Saturday night (birthdays 2 days apart) and cooked for 50 kids on the 220......too easy! :)

Well done, Burnsy, that deserves a Worlds Best Dad Award - unless of course you decided to demonstrate a few of your own disco moves for the kids! Happy Birthday to the girls.

Happens to all of us! Probably not a good idea to show up the youngsters, anyway!
Got the trivet, lid LED light and a cover for the FamilyQ today. Stopped at that as Finance Manager was supervising. Will have to sneak back for a meat thermometer and a nifty rack for grill, pizza stones, trays and trivets they had beside each Q on display. Saw several round pizza peels (all $5 cheaper than I paid on Friday!) but was able to deflect attention to a 50% off curved blade pizza cutter.

If the breeze is blowing the right way you'll know what's cooking and when. I got that grill liner for the half hot plate as you suggested. And put the light in the fridge. Mrs XP is impressed. Just going thru the "Australia's Own Cookbook for the Weber Q" for some dessert ideas for tomorrow. Will try and remember pics. Thought of setting up the BabyQ beside new one...or is that just going too far?
