What would be the must have/mods that you have or done to your van to make that trip away a little easier, I know when we are camping I am always doing something around the camp to make it just that little bit better/easier. As we are just starting out I would think that their woulid be a list a mile long but thought I would ask the question to the group.

Forgot to mention:

$$$$$$

good weather

Good company

Good Heath ...or a bad memory

And more $$$$$

And plenty of time

The mods can come sometime, if necessary, but the above are absolutely necessary.

Family, weather, good traffic, site you can easily get into and friendly neighbours to chat are all good.
Things added
1. Coffee Machine :)
2. Anti Flap Kit and tie down ropes for awning. So I can leave the van and not worry so much about the big bad wolf blowing it over.
3. Outside chairs that fit my big ass and comfortable.
4. Weber although we been using camp BBQ if closer to where kids want to go.
5. Food in fridge so you can relax and not do the food run the minute you finish your 2-8 hour drive.

To me the main thing is good weather, food, company. And anywhere out of the rat race away from work.

Mods are:
1) Larger fridge to stockpile the goodies (so we don't need to venture from camp to replenish too often). :hungry:
2) Fridge drawer (pix still to come) :very_drunk:
3) George Foreman BBQ (linked with #2 is like ordering an large big mac meal with a diet coke!!).
4) Shower and loo (the wife's need for Glamping, not mine) hence the 17-56-2.
5) Add-a-room (for the longer stops when we need to store all the extras we take along for beach or boat).

Awning matts outside, and we had boat carpet inside as well to protect the floor are also a must, especially with the kids running in and out.
Lots of other little bits can make life easier but ours is a work in progress and getting some great ideas from the forum :typing:.

This ones the best so far but can't really argue against any of them!

I find that sitting, relaxing, drinking eating and snoozing creates the right environment for thinking of mods. Some I dream up are absolutely ridiculous but others have some merit sometimes.

So, to me, the most important thing is to be comfortable and relaxed and the single best thing about camping is that almost everything we do we do for ourselves. We can divorce ourselves from the pointless humdrum of daily life and enjoy the serenity.
