Well the weekend has come and gone again and what did everyone get upto?
I had a chance to get the motorbike out and do a local ride.
And it was very wet and muddy
And today I went to the Ada Tree which is located in the Yarra Ranges State Park and is 300 years old and said to be th oldest tree in Australia. It currently stands at 75m but reached 90m until it snapped in a storm in the 1940's. The base is 15m and and is also amongst other big eucylpts in the area which has never been ravaged by fire. There is a 3.3km loop walk out to the tree and back through the tall timbers and rainforest.
The walk has boardwalks and bridges in sections to protect the undergrowth. The carpark area has undercover tables where we cooked up some lunch before going on the walk out to the tree.
The roads are very well sign posted.
There is a board walk around the tree to protect this majestic tree.
