Sounds similar to when my folks had their old XF Falcon stolen (was fairly new then). Was found outside the children's courts about 4 days later. Someone had to go to an appt for something!

Not exactly the weekend, had a quick trip to Griffith, over Thursday, back Friday to pick up my Cruiser after it was nicked from home Wednesday night. A quick find by the police and no damage other than adding a few unwanted K's and costing me some fuel.
WOW, Just WOW!

I guess the only thing to come out that is the guy obviously knew what to take for reliability!

Made up a replacement screen to replace one on a rental property after someone broke in and slept for the night. Looks like there were 3 of them from the temporary beds made up out of the curtains. House was vacant due to renovations taking place. One glass louvre blade smashed, a second fly screen mangled and looks like someone kicked a hole in a gyprock wall. Police took away a bandage with blood on it and a bladder from a cask to try and get DNA and finger prints. There was some blood spattering around the place so I hope the injury wasn't too minor.
Made new screen with the Crimsafe style mesh, same as I've been making up 8 metres of screening to our own verandah lately. Interestingly, I don't think the stuff lives up to the hype of the TV ad's where they just try to kick it in or bash it with the blunt end of a pry bar. Drill a hole in it and a good pair of tin snips will cut it up with not a lot of effort.
The other thing I noticed at the vacant house is that 4 security screen doors that were made with the older open style aluminium mesh and normal flywire is that they all had someone at some stage try to get fingers inside the flywire to trip the little snib locking tab. This also happened at our house a couple of weeks ago. In all these cases though the door locks concerned didn't work that way and they were unsuccessful. Must get around to fitting some more of the special guards made for this purpose or just remove the snib's anyway.

Had the Daughters' dance concert this weekend, off to the Gold Coast next weekend for their National Championships, then it is done for the year!
It's that time of year.... My dtr's is this weekend. Not looking forward to the tired attitude afterwards. Three shows and 8 dances in each will make for one very tired littl girl.
