There has been quite a few alloy rims cracking, don't recall where I came across it though, may even have been a recall but it's not a one off occurence.

Took the van out for spin to the brother's joint in Bendigo over the weekend. Nothing special, didn't even really pack the van up. Just threw some clothes in it, milk and fruit in the fridge and off we went. After a few quiet months of not doing much, it was awesome just to get out there again and start thinking more about the Big Lap in a few years...

Stopped in at Bunnings and bought a socket and drill bit adaptor (along with a new drill... ssshhh.... :spy:....) and now use the cordless to wind the legs down... Why haven't I done this earlier???

Now have at least 4 trips planned between now and January, with a couple more thrown in if we can....

OK, hit a little, but annoying problem on the recent trip to Robe. Some absent minded caravanner (i.e. me) forgot to tighten up the black awning arm lock nuts (you know the round ones that tighten up the arms...). As expected, the lovely "smooth" roads across the border shook one clear off the van, and the other hanging in the balance with no tightening lug. Obviously this means putting up the awning impossible.

Off to the local hardware shop (twice) and I managed to source a combination of screws and washers that at least gave us a working solution.

Now the question is, do I source replacing the nuts with the same style, stick with the current solution or try something else?

Finally got around to replacing my "work around" with a proper solution...

Why the hell do they make these things so fidgety to install?? Must be a better solution... Still, it's in and installed. Now just have to remember to tighten them up before we leave...

When it was first mentioned I pulled mine apart and found the ends of the bolt were knurled over so they won't come off.

Well after two months, some 1500km, trips from Warrnambool to Wakiti Creek, a few EDU members visitor, a Xmas and New Year Party, a buff and polish and a drawn out trip to Jayco... the Marshian's van is finally home... It's shinier than ever (thanks @17triton), the light over the table finally works and a whole bunch of leaks sorted out... So a fruitful trip, but I'm glad she's back home!

Well, it's with a (slightly) heavy heart that we bid adieu to our beloved Expanda. We've only had it for a short 20 months or so, but looking back on it, I reckon we've managed to squeeze a few adventures in....

And that doesn't include the 3 or 4 trips to park it in my brothers yard in Bendigo.

She's been a ripper van, we've loved the adventures it's brought to our life. It's gone to another young family looking to start their caravanning adventures. Here's hoping she's as good to them as she was to us.

This van brought us to this forum, and through that we've made lifelong friends. I do owe this van quite a lot!
