Great idea SS, I had been thinking of recovering or wrapping the two carpeted bits but that's cool. Do you leave it there all the time?

Hey are the b pillars (between windscreen and door) covered in headlining fur flex on the GXL or are they Vinyl?

They are fur flex (cream) on the VX and look to be a sitting target for dirty hand prints as you grab the handle to get in!

Hi Jim yes it stays there all the time .

My first attempt was using velcro but the velcro just would not grip to the carpet so I have used the excess overhang of the vinyl (bought from Spotlight) doubled it over a couple of times so it ended up about 10mm wide but still leaving a single layer to act as the hinge.

Then carefully by pulling up on the plastic trim you can unclip the plastic clips along the edge giving enough room to slide the thick edge of the vinyl through. Once lined up clip the trim back down.

Quote(Hey are the b pillars (between windscreen and door) covered in headlining fur flex on the GXL or are they Vinyl? ) Mine are plastic Jim.

FIRST IT WAS BT50'S NOW IT 200'S, WHATS NEXT SILVERADO'S. CANT WAIT TO SEE SS. CHEERS PACE.

The big Chevs are awesome. I could have got a 2500 as my boss brings a few in. But no good if you go bush or park at westfields.

Started on making a set of drawers, we had a water tank in the Hilux and found it great so wanted the same in the 200.

I also wanted the Deep cycle in the back charged via a Redarc BCDC40 (taken from Hilux)

Boab have a wedge shape 50Lt tank that fits well behind the seats $195

Picked up a constant Shurflo 11.3LPM pressure pump from Whitworths marine $99

Full extension 160kg drawer runners from UES $55 a pair

Timber $100

Will also mount a drop fridge slide on top.

The build begins.

Looks good mate. Are you running a barrier? I started to design up an alloy drawer, but stopped and am having a rethink after I saw the following photos on lcool. Thinking now a plywood set like yours but with large holes cut out which should maintain its stregth as a drawer but may help it fold in the hopefully unlikely event below. do you think the tank would work with a full barrier?

FEI apprantly that was an 8 tonne truck at 80kms! Shows how strong and how well the crumple zone works! Photos courtesy of lcool.

Holy crapolie!!
I did a double take cause I thought the first pic was the front of a car.

amazing what damage a truck can do.
Did anyone else see the truck hanging from the bolte bridge this week in Melbourne?

I'm with you Brad, I thought it was the front as well until I realized that it was the back of the spotlights!

Holy Crap! wouldn't want anyone to have been sitting in the 3rd row seats, note the towbar is still pretty well in place,
truck must of had crappy bar mounts.

Oh nice work on the start of the drawer system SS.. Damn you talented people :p
