Hey guys,

Doing research for some 12v fans and I decided the Sirroco 807 fans were pretty much class leaders. Quiet, powerful, low amp draw, 360 degree adjustable, timer and multiple speed, etc.

Anyhow I managed to pick up some today for $140 from RV Award store. They price matched 807's online however when I get there they were actually the mark 2 versions.

Very happy camper here.

Well done.

I've been searching as well, as we'll need them I think

Dont think you'll find a better price - even going to the US direct as the dollar is so crap.

RV Award store have donestic warranty as well.

Nice score!
We have an 807 in our van it is brilliant . Quite , moves a lot of air and being permenantly mounted it gets alot of use.
The only thing that would improve them I believe would be an oscillating function.

I know the Sirocco's are good but I don't want a fixed one...just something I can tuck away and get out when needed.

Has anyone heard of or tried the "breezeway'" or "cool breeze" brands? I think they oscillate as well.

Does anyone have any ideas of how we could cover tha face of it and stop a 6 y.o. putting his fingers in?

Thanks in advance....

He'll only do it once.....though maybe not if he still has another hand.

:faint:

Trust me It doesn't hurt!

Argh my finger!!!!

I used double sided tape and two screws on the backing plate , it hasn't moved and I don't expect it to.

The blades have the softish protection bead on them.

Where do have the fan/s placed in the van?

Will I need one each end or is one in a central position enough yo be effective?

Has anyone tried the Jayco fans that clip to the bed support bar?- I think they are about $90?. After buying the crappy oscillating ones from Jaycar & supercheap. I can't ring myself to pay the money for the non oscillating siroccos, even though 140bucks is so cheap in comparison to the $215 I've seen at my local store

Tried the Jayco ones ...once....they combine the fan with a light...but neither is particularly effective and they clip to the hockey stick support so hang from the middle. I found myself having to move in bed just to get some air.

Sirocco sounds like better value to me.

Cheers Dobbie- I was glad you said that, as I was going to write a post for oppinions.
It's just the permenant fixing for the sirocco, that bothers me. I'd prefer something more portable. But I suppose the most important thing is good air flow while trying to sleep..... through the wife's snoring!!

I want portable as well so I was looking at Breezeway or Cool Breeze....both on eBay. The others I've seen are more for the old style taxi...remember them? Just enough air to send the driver's smell through to the passengers.

In other words, smal, plastic and ineffectual.

Have a look on eBay for the others....I'm still pondering.

Two would be ideal I think.. But We have just the one near the door image.jpeg this position allows us to point it either at the table- our bed- kitchen or even the bunks . It moves the air around nicely . It's no tornado but just blows an a4 sheet of paper off the table to give an idea.
The one does us most of the time but we also circulate the air through our heater (just fan no heat) when needed. We have another fan run off an inverter that we sit on the wardrobe pointed at the bunks that does oscillate to get both beds if really hot. I wanted to put another permenantly mounted but I don't think one would do both beds unless it oscillated .

Ive installed Caframo Ultimate 747 fans. The 747s are the same size fan blade and engine as the Caframo Sirocco, but has smaller mount footprint and no fan guard. Touching the blade will give you a bloody fright, but it certainly doesnt hurt.

0.5amp drawer, move a lot of air, are easy to remove.

Are they effective? None of my searches came up with this.

Looks good!

We have 2 of the Jayco combination light/fans and find them OK (Better than nothing!)
I like the look of the 12/240V one that @Bellbirdweb posted..... Might have to look into one of them for future! (Can leave Mrs D inside with the Jayco ones and I'll use the portable one in the annexe ;) )
