Schoolie mate wants to spend a week at Kwiambal National Park so we will head out there next week for about 5 days.

Are you staying at Lemon Tree Flat @chartrock.
The pub at Ashford was closed when we were their last, fuel was available though.

We are going to Maroon dam for the week. First boat outing for the season. Looking forward to getting our feet wet :)

Yes Shane, off tomorrow morning for Lemon Tree Flat and hope we find a spot, being a national park, we can't book.

Maroon Dam sounds great but maybe wetsuits will be required. :p:p Enjoy the week, it should be a good test for the new Colorado.

Yes we were there just before Easter and it was not too crowded so hopefully you won't be too crowded.
we marked in the local area on open street map while we were there you can see some of the walking trails and the camp ground here

We will definitely be taking the spring suits with us. spent the weekend crawling around under the tug running all the extra wires.

Have a great trip

Thanks for the map, it shows the Kookabitta camp site as well which was mentioned by the ranger when I phoned up. It is used as an overflow park apparently.

Are you taking the van as well as the boat?

we marked Kookabitta in as well. it is a nice area too but is really only suited to tent camping or pop ups. it has better beach access to the river as well, popular with families with young kids. Don't forget to watch out for the tiger pears and stinging nettle

Yes we are taking the van and boat. i will tow the boat with the Hilux and Kym gets to try out the Colorado with the van.

We usually get good reception when there..... I would imagine they'll have the footy on the big TV in the games room!
