Ive had 3 Tekonsha brake controllers, but followed the hype and fitted a V3 TowPro Elite to the Troopy before we left for the sth coast of NSW. I gave it 3 days of towing, and ripped it out in the caravan park yesterday in favour of the trusty old fav, the Tekonsha P3.

I was disappointed enough with the TowPro to punch holes in my brand new dash with a screwdriver to fit the Tekonsha.

I would say there was a fittment problem or a faulty unit, I have fitted hundreds of each of different models over the years, we used to have the highest failure with the Tekonsha to the point they actually came out to try and find a fix for them, but as long as you're happy now thats all that counts

Now here are the pictures???

My tow pro is easily the best I have ever used .
The first tekonsha I had was a piece of crap it would turn on brake lights when parked and flatten batteries

The Cruiser was pretty good on the Central Oz with swags strapped to the roof, but now for the Cruiser tow report.

We left last Tue for the sth NSW coast with a van in tow. We havent used the van since xmas due to having no tug after the Nav was sold.

First impressions were ..... mixed. Now im comparing this to the greatest most under rated tow vehicle in history. The Nav was a supremely capable, powerful and rock solid stable tow platform ... pretty much everything the LC70 isnt.

In comparison, gustless, unstable and anything but confident. Over the first 3 days bopping about from freecamp to freecamp, the instability disappears on rough, windy back roads, and is only really evident on lovely straight, flat freeway type roads.

I suspect im just spoilt and was initially expecting a Nav compatible comparison. Anyway, all was forgiven when the mighty Troopy returned a 15ltrs/100km fuel consumption with the 3t behemoth hanging off the back. No sneezing at those numbers
