My son is travelling through the NT with swags and only needs unpowered sites. Could not get in in Darwin event though they said it should not be a problem. They now need to transit SA only on the way home so will be a big day on the road.

Depends where home is, many gates are slamming shut as we speak.
They are traveling from the NT to Vic and can transit SA as long as they only stop for fuel and food. Cannot go into eat but they can get take away. Need to keep receipts to make sure they can prove they did not stop any longer than they say.
They do have 24 hours to transit so if they need a sleep, they can have a few hours on the side of the road. Thye should be fine. Will hit the SA border about 5 am and get into Vic at about 8pm.
