All packed and ready for my 12 month late excursion thanks to Covid. Moved into the new house Thursday so a few days late leaving. Getting the van into the garage will be fun to watch when I get back home!!

@DRW, with your millimetre precision, you should just about fit it in - on your forth of fifth attempt!!! Have a safe and enjoyable journey. Fitting van into shed should be the last thing on your mind whilst travelling around Australia.

I forgot about the permit thanks Ian, the Bruce Hi way is worse than when I was driving semi’s up and down in the late 70’s I can’t recall seeing so much road works which are all patches anyway, where do our fuel taxes go??? Made it to Alpha for the night nice little park actually off to Longreach tomorrow just down the road then off to Kynuna Blue Healer pub for state of origin and getting the van in the shed at home is the last thing on my mind lol Jeep just turned over 200,000k and going like a train so all is good

Bruce Hwy has always been rubbbish, Iast week I applied for permits for friends they left for WA via NT on Tuesday, knew nothing about them and no internet, permits came thru in 5 mins thankfully, NT permit is easy, WA is a big pain with scanning docs....... have a safe one...

Well made it to Kynuna early stop for state of origin tonight, car is pulling like a train clocked over 200,000k yesterday starting to run in nicely. Fuel consumption is a worry around 18-19 LPH highest it’s ever been bit of a head wind and of course it’s all up hill

Very disappointing result last night but I guess we need to let the blues win something? Made it to Mount Isa today fuel consumption is way better without the wind only hold up was a Toyota but I expected that. Off to Frewena rest stop tomorrow I really hope it warms up soon it only reached 19 today brrrrrr

Currently in Katherine the whole NT is out of control every park, free camp and parking spot taken at Longreach free camp we estimated 200+ vans and the closer to Darwin the crazier it gets but I guess we are part of the problem as well? All gorge booking full for a week or more we might book a tour before we leave for our return 34 degrees here today and loving it

Rolled into Darwin about lunchtime yesterday all set up now it’ll be good to be in the one place for a while, Supercars parade went past the park pretty cool!
