Just ask their permission! You might be surprised but they would probably agree. Most Companies just like to be asked.

OK what about a sticker the same colour as the banner but the out line of the sticker is a map of Australia.

And the slogan could be ''Expanda's Downunder''
''Expanding across Australia''

Edit: sorry I didn't do a design :sorry:

Great job Andrea,I think your design would make a great rear sticker and hat logo(perhaps minus the forum section on the hat, maybe too small and busy when embroidered ?)The forum banner would work on stubbie holders if the vans were moved closer(there are plenty of these about. ARB's looks great)Jayco would absolutely own the word expanda, but I doubt if they would bother with a small amount of merchandise this group would be producing.

yeah I like that. Keep it simple. Too busy on a sticker is too distracting.
I do think the forum banner would print ok on a stubby holder - photo type prints are common enough. But it would need to be very truncated as the total length is quite small, not banner length (1 expanda plus logo close to it is probably about all would fit)

However, for my two cents, whenever I used to do promotion or marketing stuff etc in my old job, I always needed to be conscious of brand identification. Although I like Andreas design, it is not the website's 'identification',and Moderator/owner of forum should consider this aspect - ie we don't usually see companies using two differing logos. No, this isn't a company, but we are talking a group identification by providing merchandise. So, looking up at the top banner, forgetting the colour background, what I see is a grey box with yeloow/orage border and text. That is really the 'identifiable' logo - whether intentional or not. Therefore, I think the next question mod/owner should ask is 'should that also be modified to match the merchandise' or alternatively 'should the merch be the grey box with yellow/orange border and text'?

That will be the idea, I have been looking at redesigning the logo for quite some time but lack creative ideas.

Essentially I think we should get a couple of ideas as we are getting now and then put it to a vote.

Based on the outcome of the vote we can then redesign the banner of the site as well and even look to change some of the forum to match each years color style.

Dingo, very valid point. I did look at that.... This is a decision the forum owners would need to make.

Bigman, do you think jayco's graphics are part of their intellectual property??

We are promoting them anyway so I don't see a big deal with it.

not if you do a crappy job at it like me

copyright... lol!

::I dare say your correct there Andrea... I think they even have a trademark on the word "expanda" too. ::

Ill double check but I don't think its a big deal personally as we are overall promoting there product in a positive light.

FYI
Looking at the image sizes for a stubby holder and using the height of the current banner as reference, the relative image size would be thus;

thats great looking work SD, though as it is an expandasdownunder, should the van pictured at least be an aussie version. LOL. cheers.
ha ha . thought it might upset someone. :flame:

Being just a quick crop of the top banner, the resolution isn't particularly sharp and would need to be done properly. It was only indicative of relative size nothing more. Same with border as shown on the second one. I'm sure Andrea will do a great job designing it all :D

For the more portly (fat) among us (beer drinkers of the world unite) maybe just "Expandas Downunder" across the beer gut!

For the ladies, "Expandas" in large letters across the chest with "Downunder" in smaller writing under it!

Tin hat on, incoming (from the Femin Nasties)
