Do you use a WDH? What brand fits the jeep tow bar? Thanks...DSP
Hayman Reece WDH will fit but you have to grind the corners of the hitch to fit into the receiver.

I'm considering getting the Eaz Lift WDH. My dad has 50 years experience as a mechanical engineer and reckons that the way the uplifts connect to the hitch are better than the Hayman Reece design. (Sorry can't explain further, I gave up mechanical engineering after 7 years).

Did you get Quadra Lift on your GC? This below might help with you.

Which towbar?
Depends on a couple of things.
Pros... (Hayman Reese)
I found the Hayman Reese bar to be cheaper than the Mopar bar, and my HR WDH fitted straight in without having to buzz the edges off with a grinder to make it fit.
Easier to instal, the rear bumper doesn't have to come off.

Cons..
You will lose your rear recovery hook. (I use a recovery hitch instead, no biggie)
You can't fit an aftermarket long range fuel tank with an HR bar.

If I had my time over, I'd get the Mopar one, just because I want to fit the aux tank at some point.

Also, I'd always go a proportional brake controller (like a Tekonsha P3) over a non-proportional one (like the Redarc).
They are set and forget.
The reason most installers try and steer you towards the Redarc is that they are easier to instal than a P3, but they are not a better brake controller.

I reckon you can get into a 200 from $70-75k but thats a proverty pack and still a tonne of money, And not for everyone. Yeah Matty is right just like Mitsbishi when they closed there manufacturing they continued to be supported. In fact the 5/10 warranty came out if it, and I heard a ford add yesterday they are offering 5 yrs on a falcons and territories.

your SUV argument has some merit but I wouldn't put the territory in that bracket. It is a much heavier vehicle and was designed with towing in mind and is the rwd falcon in disguise, most SUVs are fwd vehicles in disguise. Falcons have always been good towing vehicles and were the mainstream before the 4x4 became so popular.

Expandaman your concern for love ones and fellow road users is admirable but if so I would be ditching the red arc. They are not proportional and do not offer the same abilties as the teshonka . I would only use a RedArc on a box trailer.
I actually don't prefer a proportional brake controller. They don't have the ability to adjust "Easily" on the fly. When brakes heat up or cool down they react and operate differently. With the Redarc I can adjust very easily and it's right at my fingertips. The bulky Teconsha thing was always in the way of my legs. It doesn't take long to work out the highway and city traffic settings on a Redarc. I guess there are for and against on all units. I have used both and I've settled for what suits my driving style.

Don't get me started about Falcons and commodores towing vans.

The second hand market is full of low km cruisers if that helps people get into one. I have owned new and used vehicles in the past and due to savvy buying have never had any real issue with used cars. I'd buy a used cruiser any day over another new Patrol or Spadge. Don't shoot me down, I'm just saying that I've had them all and know where my money will always go every time.

I'll wrap up with my catch phrase. "Just because you can doesn't mean you should". This applies to vehicle tow ratings people.

This is a great phrase and very apt today with manufacturers upping tow ratings on whims.
Yep there is starting to get plenty of S/H Cruzas and costs of parts are getting better but things like steering racks and steering hoses etc are and will fail in them early girls and will still cost. The territory will tow 2.3/5comfortably IMO

If your drums are needing proportional adjustment due to them getting warm something's going wrong. I set up once and it works. There's are reason all the American tow vehicles are factory wired for Teshonka.

If it wasn't needed Redarc wouldn't be developing a proportional remote unit. Like there isolater, super smart spin marketing keeps people buying there dark ages isolater for nearly double the $$$ of a marine rated VSR. Just 4x4 tax plus spin.

"If you buy a Territory to tow that van, then you have rocks in your head. The bloody van will be way heavier than the vehical and I just have a pet hate for people who buy SUV style AWD tow vehicles to tow anything more than a camper trailer. Those things are for dropping the kids to school. And now that FORD Australia is going under, I wouldn't touch a Ford."

Ford are merely stopping Australian production, as are Toyota. Does that mean Toyota are going under too?

Having said that, I do think that 3 tonnes is too much for a a Territory; it's AWD limit is 2700kg.

BTW, our Terry does a better job of pulling 2200kg than our Toyota Prado did.

U can even get a vsr connected to a battery driven battery isolator switch, designed so u can push one button to turn on batteries without going down into an engine room, and now with c zone you can do it all from your key ring. Amazing electronic gear.

You sure about that a territory awd does a great job towing our 20/63 I go to say I never have a Toyota again territory fuel average is 12 towing a toyota you can see the gauge moving hehe
