It looks like a small Jeep, is that why you like it ;)

You may be correct @cruza driver but I am a closet Ford man as well, here are a couple more pics of the same car.

too true there @DRW I'm not a fan of a ute either.............:o:o

but
I am not a major fan of the new fangled 4x4's with electronic everything as well...........
(press a button and it magically does everything except wipe you nose...active hill decent, active hill accent, active headlight fluid replacement systems etc..................)

I have towed way too many off the beach, because losers go buy them, then go on the beach, and wonder why they get bogged.......
"oh but its a AWD or 4wd..........."
or pull them out of the forrest, because they thought their softroad All Wheel Drive would be sufficient to get up that gravel hill...... and down again without damage

back to topic....................................... :behindsofa:

I'm with you @bigcol, I like the Explorer looks good but that Edge not sure I'd have to tyre kick them, depends if they are heavy enough and come with a proper engine.

OK..................let's not confuse 4 Wheel Drive with All Wheel Drive.
My "new fangled 4x4" has all the electronics (aside from the nose-wiping one) and is very capable off-road.
Those AWD SUV's (damn I hate that acronym) that don't have a transfer case will always struggle in soft sand, but with a bit of talent and knowledge behind the wheel they can go further than you might think.

Even the new Patrol has all the "new fangled" electronics, it's called progress.

You drive a Jeep @Matty4, the envy of many less fortunate and you are absolutely correct.........................but the new fangled electrics can be a horror and something we sadly can't get away from but it does let people think they can operate a 4x4 when they can hardly drive a car, my snatch strap has been used to help others, never on mine and I give free driving lessons while I save their city slicker arses....lol,lol.

didnt know what the second stick was for..................

of the guy & missus in their Terrortorry at Julimar - its an AWD SUV (you like they acronym hey @Marv_mart )
lucky myself and a mate were doing a recce trip for our 4wd club...... they had been stuck for 2 hrs already - and we drove them out
my mate - them hooked to him - and to me behind............

When I get over the west for a visit @bigcol we will have to meet up, gotta be lots of laughs and stories for sure:biggrin-26:,
I've even recovered a HiLux and a Honda thing at Double Island in my old Brumby and I didn't have my camera.......won't mention a Patrol pulled me out as well but then I just fell into his tracks and beached.:ambivalence:

Made a heap of beer using a Unimog as a rescue vehicle, great stuff, tow em out 4 at a time.

the fun ones are up near my inlaws.....
Port Gregory - south of Kalbarri - north of Horrocks (you can Google it.......)
they have a massive Salt Lake there.... Hutt River Lagoon.......
the amount of tossers I have pulled out of there, because "it looked real hard, I didnt know it was water underneath"

back to the OP..........

I hope, whatEVER Ford brings out, they sort out the rear of the Chassis.........
have heard some pretty nasty stories about their shock towers - got a mate who fabricates boxes on the back of them for Police etc....

would be interesting to see if anyone has had a problem with them yet....?

similar scenario to what they have done to the new Triton, by making them a shorter wheel base....... too much hanging after the springs etc........
