I totally agree with the red wine, though only need one glass, hubby is an ouzo drinker!
I'll have the occasional frequent Molinari Extra Sambucca, just for medical reasons you understand...I always feel better after I had a glass, so won't pick on anyone who is addicted to ouzo.
Mrs XF cant stand the aniseed smell so "glass" glasses are a must. Also for our G&T's.
Stemmed wine glasses travel well in stubby holders.

I managed to get my hands on one of those large Hoegaarden beer glasses.
they are excellent for massive G&Ts.

That's real class, that is. Imported glass n all And plenty of room for ice.
Mrs XF likes to impress with the (Tasmania's Lark Distillery) Pepper-berry Gin bottle when out under the awning.
On our own inside its just duty free Bombay Saphire with good splash of bitters.

I am amazed at how different the gin tastes can be. If we splurge we go for the Hendricks. Yummo!! But our everyday gin at the moment is bulldog gin in the black bottle. Very nice also.

collapsable dirty washing basket, also square foldable basket from bunnings about $10 put towels , always have a small container with essentials shampoo, conditioner, washing liquid, aeroguard, fly and surface spray , connectors for hoses, first aid kit make it up yourself a lot cheaper , bottleopeners, baby q , comfty chairs engel and a couple of slabs of beer, melamine plates etc and dvd player in the kids end small extendion and 4 in 1 points peg basket made ours from and new teatowel with a hanger inserted and lots of things to keep the kids occupied so you can enjoy a nice cold beer, also make sure that you have 2 sets of keys for every lock on the van we got dudded by jayco and had to get the external shower key cut and hang them on a lanyard easier to walk around your neck with a beer in your hand and that way you dont forget where you left them !!!!

Variety is the spice of life. Met the bloke who grows the Pepper Berries otherwise wouldn't have discovered Lark.
Heard once that G&T is supposed to prevent Malaria...so far it seems to be working!

As soon as we set up we put our key storage lock on the main entry handle.
Its a combination lock, so no extra key.
We have a main door key inside this lock, so no matter where we are, and if we're all coming and going at different times, there's always a key to get inside.
Really very handy, would be lost without it, or locked out!

You've been given some great ideas so far. We also take

- portable dyson (this is a must so much easier than brooms and you can door the seats)
- pod coffee machine (ours lives in the little cupboard near the hot water system)
- caravan only toys & DVDs (means kids don't have to think about what they want to take), footballs and pumps. We were thinking of buying some collapsible scooters to live in the van boot)
- insect repellant and bug spray
- spray & wipe & shower cleaner (I find its easier to clean the van when packing up)
- collapsible bucket and caravan cleaner (this may sound silly but we did find we needed to bath our panda after a couple of long days on the road)
- spare sheets (even for the parent bed ( we learned this the hard way in our old van when our then 3 mth old sicked up on our bed at 9pm at nights
- extra pegs
- cordless drill for drop jacks

Don't forget different type/size fuse's for all your equipment. Van, car, fridges, air compressor's. I went free camping in March and notice on the 2nd day my Engel fridge had stopped working. It had a blown fuse in the 12v lead. I was using a genny on and off to keep battery charged and air-con use. They don't take much room or weigh much, and you probably won't need one very often... But when you need one
Thanks where2.
Do you buy them individually or is there a set you can purchase that would cover all the areas mentioned. We are writing down all the ideas so we can purchase as we go.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I thought for a moment my wife opened up an account, lol. Very practical suggestions. You mentioned caravan cleaner, what do you use to wash the Jayco, is it just car wash, and in terms of the camper trailer like the Flamingo, what do you use for the material surfaces?

thanks for the reply

sense armaoil wash and wax for the wash down and fibreglass polish for the polishing. Inside just normal spray and wipe type products. We haven't needed to clean our canvas bed ends at all but on our camper we used 30 seconds.
