ATTENTION ALL LAREDO OWNERS.
Jeep Australia have finally agreed to replace the crap reversing camera with genuine one (as on the Limited and up). You should receive a letter.

How long does it take to get the original guard off? I must be missing something. (Nice work too!).

I can take it of in 30secs. Start on the side by pulling outwards, whilst holding your hand on the painted section. I'll video and post next week.

Duncan. I had leather put in my Laredo here in Brisbane. Better quality than the Limited and you couldn't tell it was aftermarket. Made sense to me at the limited was a lot more coin for parking sensors, leather and a gps. I'd like the sensors but love my Garmin with up to date maps. Leather was about $2500.

The covers are made from wetsuit material. Easy to clean. Wife and daughter are swimmers and jump straight into the car in their wet cossies.
Only criticism I have is they don't breathe and can be a bit sticky on a hot day.
I will get another set for the next car.

Last weekend spent 3 days offroading from the Brindabellas into Kosciusko National Park.
Busted a rim in the first hour and did the rest of the trip on the spare. Amazing how well this vehicle works in the mud, even with road tyres.
Still haven't had to use the recovery hooks yet.

Unfortunately couldn't take the Jayco Discovery with me. First night spent in a tent at -5 degrees, nearly died. Next night I built a big fire slept beside that until 2am and then retreated to the car, put on the heated seats...snug as a bug.

Here's some pics
BTW got a new alloy wheel for $100 and refitted the existing tyre which was not damaged.

You sure are getting plenty of use out of the Jeep @BigSkiddy

What caused the rim damage?

Yeah I am. I figure why not use it as it was designed. Otherwise I could have stuck with a normal sedan.

Went too fast up a rutted muddy incline, struck a large rock which was on the inside edge of the rut. Learnt to go slow up the hills and let the Jeeptronics do their thing.

Well must be a good "nut" behind the wheel, always the most important part of off road equipment.
