I love that picture of my BT mate, thanks for that. It sure was a great view from the tower.

Here is the after shot:

The ride is much stiffer than before, but has settled down a fair bit since it went in.

This certainly make the BT more capable. I am lookming forward to getting mine done.

So i've done quite a few km's in the BT now, over 20,000km. I'm still very happy with the rig and very impressed with its capabilities, comfort and fuel economy.

On our 4 week tour around Tassie and Vic High Country i got 13.4L/100km from home to home, mostly towing, but also lots of 4wding. Thats the reading from the computer, so give or take 1L, but either way, thats pretty damn good.

General day to day driving with all my aerodynamic killing accessories i am getting 9.5L/100km. Over all i'm very happy with it (not so happy with the amount of bush pin striping i have already though:wink:)

Those accessories kill fuel consumption, I know what you mean with the pin striping, but my kids like to add the bike striping to it as well. Maybe I should have gone white?

Well my BT thread has been a bit quiet for a while now. Not much add other than i installed a winch the other day.

I went for the Runva 11XP, mainly for price and warranty. Me and a few mates pooled our resources and managed to get them delivered to our door for $600 each. I need an offset hawse which i am waiting on from tigerz11, it was about $40.

I was very lucky, the winch JUST fit into the gap under the bar, it was tight but i was able to get it in. I just used a ratchet strap to lift it into place, quite easy to do by myself. I had to rotate the gearbox too but that was a 5min job.

Not so lucky on my mates Hilux, we had to remove his bar to get it in which made it a lengthy two man job.

I just have to wire mine up this weekend now.

This is the trial fit to make sure it fit and work out how much i had to rotate the gearbox.

Ready to wire up now, just missing the offset hawse.

Beginning to take shape. We need to have a 'winch off'. Warn VS Runva in a head to head!!! See who gets pulled off the mark!

The ARB bullbar has been on for a while, and alll the electrical is done. Dual battery, anderson plug to van, Narva Spotties, Uniden compact UHF, reverse camera.

Hi @Moto Moto
Just wondering how and where you did the Dual battery. In the tray? Permanent or removable?
I am looking at this:

But I'm begging to wonder if the stainless tray is needed. Surely I can just strap the box down to the tray Like this?....

Hey Relgate, i have a setup very similar to that, minus the tray. My plastic box is just bolted down, Jayco style.

Mine is just a plain box though, that one with the battery level monitor looks good.

I'm looking at the thumper now. I like the idea of not needing any extra dc/dc charger etc, plus the anderson plugs and portability (I will need to take it out at times for work)
I realise you had one before and had a shock when quoted to re-pack. I'm still keen to give it a try. Any more thoughts?

I loved mine, especially when I had my soft floor camper, was great for mobile power.

Still have it in the garage, and plan on re-packing it one day. Just has 3 motor bike size batteries from memory.

I got mine from the same place and found over the phone I got a great deal, much better than they had advertised at the time.

Haven't updated in a while.

The BT is coming up to 95,000kms soon, mostly work hwy km's, i certainly do a few. No major issues, though had a coolant hose replaced under warranty recently, and have had a few issues with my stereo not turning off when the car is turned off. Modern cars and their electronics worry me.

But all in all she has been a great truck. Recent mods include some brand new BF Goodrich KM2's. These babies look the part but boy are they noisy on the hwy, but i don't care i just love them. Went up a size too, so now running 265/70R17 (32's).

My BT is always loaded, and even with all the gear i have is still get 11L/100km consistently, i am happy with that for an auto tranny.

Here is a pick of the muddies:D
