Hey Big Gee, i have a Polaris setup that mounts to the sun visor, i will take a photo and post it for you later.

Geoff, i don't use a WDH, i haven't found the need to with my model van.

How is the canopy decision going?

Had a look at the ARB canopy the other day, they seem to be a better finish than mine, If I could do it over I probably would go the ARB canopy, with lift up windows and internal roof racks.

Here's some photos of my reverse camera setup.

Screen is nice and big on the sun visor. I like this over in dash combo units as it can be moved from car to car easily if i update. Also its out of site.

This Polaris unit came out of my Patrol.

Spot the camera. My auto elecy did a great job mounting the camera out of harms way. These things are a marriage saver i can testify to that LOL.

Thanks mate, your right about them being marriage savers! I'm still undecided about what to put in the Ranger!

Thanks for the link mf and thanks for the comment everyone. Really enjoying the car, but really miss the Patrol too.

Hopefully have the 'go ahead' to order the canopy next week. Suspension is high on the wish list too.

I have had the BT for a few months now, and so far it has been a great combo work/holiday vehicle.

The ARB bullbar has been on for a while, and alll the electrical is done. Dual battery, anderson plug to van, Narva Spotties, Uniden compact UHF, reverse camera.

UHF and Brake controller mounted out of the way nicely.

Anyone tried putting brake controller in a different location in a BT 50?

Cheers Geoff

Well i had the ARB canopy and roof bars fitted a few weeks ago and the truck is just about the ultimate tow vehicle/tourer now. Definatley needs a suspension upgrade though. A bit saggy in the bum, especilly with the van on, but not too bad.

My fuel consumption has gone up slightly now all the accessories are on to about 9.3L/100km. Not sure of the increase when the van is on.

On a side note, i have been a bit distracted over the last month or so after i picked up a 'project'. It wasn't planned, just circumstances presented themselves, and i ended up with a 1988 GQ TD42 with just over 300,000kms on the clock. I Plan on setting it up as a off road warrior of some sort. Not sure really, but loving the tinkering. The memories from childhood family holidays in the back of one of these are flooding back too. So my usual late nights on the forum have been on hold as i get to know the old girl LOL

Ooooo yes mm. That does look like something worth getting your teeth into. Does the engine get an overhaul in this project?

Early days so far Brad, so not sure yet. Just getting all the maintenance up to speed, then see how we go from there.

Just before i left for Tasmania a while back, I notice the BT was just about riding on the bump stops in the rear.

So only 2 days before i departed the decision was made for a new tough dog kit to go in. Went the meduim duty leaves (constant 300kg load), heavy duty springs in the front, and foam cell shocks front and rear.

Here is a before shot:

Here is the after shot:

The ride is much stiffer than before, but has settled down a fair bit since it went in.

Geez its high now and the tyres look so small :).....

Is it something that Mazda offers to upgrade the suspension and does it affecty your warranty at all?

No Mazda don't offer suspension upgrades (that i am aware of), and not sure on the warranty side of things. My ARB bullbar was fitted as part of the new vehicle purchase through Mazda, when i asked about the impact on warranty i was told the bullbar is covered by ARB's own warranty, the rest of the car by Mazda, so i guess the suspension would be the same.

And yes you are right, a set of 33's muddies would look good to fill those guards, thats what you meant right?

Nice amount of lift mate, ready for a set of weekend muddies on some black sunnies ;). Visually looks like more than the 40mm they quote.

After riding in Moto's BT I'll also be throwing Tough Dog under mine. Moto's seems to have handled everything he has thrown at it with ease and I saw it post and pre Tassie and it has settled down nicely.

Looking good mate :thumb:

Here is a pic I snapped at the Mt Donna Buang tower in the Yarra Valley
