Hi macca, like the shower unit, gather u have hot water?
Hi there, yes we have hot water, but my last van we didn't have hot water and it was worth its weight in gold at beach side caravan parks. Kids are happy with cold water for washing sand off things as was I.

I wander how the new Expandas cope with the wiring for the LED lights on the awning roller.
I tried it when doing my Mod #4 but found that the hem of the awning with the wire is of course thicker and the awning does not roll up evenly. Ended up removing the wires and attaching it at the bottom and the top so that when the awning rolls up, the wire rolls up by itself of the roller. Pictures on my thread when I have finished it.
Works OK. Still to finish the inside wiring. Will post pics on

When I finish it tomorrow.

@Marv_mart I think the key is to keep it simple. The other thing to think about is if you are going to use an anti flap kit. I am yet to decide if I will have a strip near the roller. At this stage probably not but if I were to I thing I would have a lead that plugged in at both ends, but I will be getting AFK's because we will be getting an annexe so that would give the wire something to attach to. I will keep an eye on yours;).

Finished mine now with pics. See my thread. When I attach the anti flap bars, they will actually hold the wire up against the awning. If I have problems, may need to attach a plug at the awning end and also at the top end for a portable power cable to connect them as needed. Current setup seems to work well but will have to wait and see.

I changed the inlet and outlet water connections in the HWS after reading about quite a few failures. They were tight, no wonder they were fracturing anyway I thought I would pull the anode out to drain the tank. There was seriously hardly any anode material left. Time for a new anode. Van is only 2 years old so may be a good idea for others to check theirs. I will post a photo later.

Replaced my anode rod last night (18 months old) and found that there was absolutely no anode left!!!! All that came out was the nut and the small rod that the material (magnesium???) is attached too. Will be checking anode every 6 or so months from now on!!! Cheaper to replace the anode than the whole HWS tank.

Yep. I replaced mine after 6 months and it was toast!

The factory ones last about 6 months but you can get wider and longer anode from most caravan shops that you should get a year out of.
