Yes, I would like the answer to both those questions,
A) how do you prevent the wire twisting at the drum
B) how did others get power out to the drum led
Will be doing mine after the van comes back from its first service next week.

A) Not sure how they prevent the wires from twisting.
B) Pics below of how Jayco get the power out to the drum.

Took the tape off today. 6 days is good enough for silicone to hold.
IMG_3819.JPG IMG_3820.JPG IMG_3817.JPG
The slight bulge is due to the thickness of the wires and the heat shrink is giving strength to the wires on the back. Didn't have any white heat shrink but I have done it in a way that I can Stanley cut the front of the heat shrink if I wanted to because the silicone would be doing its job by then. I will probably just leave it as I know it is strong and well insulated. In the flesh the bulge is not too noticeable.

:bounce:Looks like a good job there @macca That will make cooking a BBQ at night a breeze now and you won't burn the snags anymore either :pound:

That's how I did mine under the awning so that the LED strips are protected from the sun and weather.

Any more plans for the LED strips?

Thanks @skippy , It is very protected which is what I wanted, if you look in the second photo you can see it has been raining but the strip is dry. I still have some off cuts and another 5m roll;). I think I will put a length in the tunnel boot, and maybe a coupe little ones inside some of the cupboards, but they will be later. I think the awning area should be bright enough with one strip, next we have to get our annexe, so I will see how it goes then. We will put a verandah out the front of the annexe so I will have to come up with something that is more portable. I remember with our last van, sometimes we would sit out the front while the kids were inside. The LED strip lighting is a great innovation.

Started to replace the LED lighting in the van. The local caravan yard had a display with Jayco lights and what the new led's look like. I opted for smaller ones to start with. The ones with heaps of led's were very bright so opted for the smaller ones. I am glad I saw the display because if I bought them on ebay I would have bought the wrong ones. They are tight to get in but the results are a nice whiter light which is not too over the top (for us anyway). The closest light is normal globe, the one further away is Led. Have only done 6 (3 x doubles), still another few to do, I have ordered some slightly smaller ones for those (8 led per globe).

Fitted the new globes which arrived via ebay, fitted much easier and the brightness was only a touch down on the others which is what I wanted.

@macca we've found the one 3M LED strip under the awning is quite sufficient with and without the annex on, kids are able to play Monopoly and we can read no prob's at all.

@gwadir , My last van we only had one strip and it was fine. I will order a triple gang switch front and extra switch, that way I can turn off the normal outside light off and on by itself.

Way to go @macca the three gang plates & switches are available through Coast To Coast RV, the plates are only available in beige for extra low voltage so you may want to also purchase the beige mounting block to match, I did a few enquiries and found out Jayco purchase the switch plates and mounting blocks in bulk from CMS Electracom and purchase in batches of 30 000 at a time that's why they can get white, because of their bulk ordering. So that explains why the electrical fittings in Jayco's are all white.

Thanks Dave, I will pop into Jayco spares, the guy there normally just pops out the back and takes stuff off the line if its not in the shop.

@rodney . Oh the washer. Sorry Rodney. The washing machine is not a mod I did but yes it has a factory fitted sphere washing machine. Over the weekend I will take some photos for you.

Cheers Geoff

It goes under the TV cabinet, just on the left as you enter. I will get you a photo tomorrow. The top bench folds back to access the top while the front cupboards are different than normal. I think it would be hard to do as a retro fit, but could be done. May be easier to fit a small front loader. @rodney , Let me know what you want photos of and I will do them for you. If its the 18.57-5 you are looking at, there are not many around. It suited us, I even tried to see if it was possible for Jayco to build one and then we found our one so I stopped the process. For us, it got done to the fact that my wife didn't like the combo shower toilet and we didn't want bunks and a 20 was too big so the 57-5 is sort of a short 21-64 so it was perfect for us.

Had a mod day today. Fitted outside shower and picnic side table.
IMG_3855.JPG IMG_3858.JPG IMG_3860.JPG IMG_3862.JPG
I had to fit it side ways as that's the only space I had on that side of the van left. I sealed the penetration (no3) before I fitted the module. This shower module is a bit different than other models, there is no hole for the hose to poke thru into the cavity and allowing water to run back, so I am happy with that. I will change the shower rose like I did on my last van. They are only around $10.

Thought I might as well fit the table. I want another table but my wife is not happy on releasing the funds. I have allowed for a second table ;) just in case funds become available.
IMG_3863.JPG IMG_3865.JPG
I will fit some decals...maybe after second table:).

Sorry about picture quality, taken with iphone with cover on.

Also got rid of the pump tap and fitted Shurfo filtered tap and found a spot for the keys.
