Hooray, we picked up our new caravan on Friday 8th August from Jayco at St Marys (Sydney) and drove it straight down to Lane Cove National Park where we camped for the night with friends. I had lots of fun making beds, allocating cupboards and measuring spaces.

So, so shiny!!!

Love the new bike rack. So much easier than the one hubby built on the A frame of our last expanda - we had to remove the bikes before opening up the bed.

The fridge is so huge!!! Can't wait for a longer trip.
P1060276.jpg

Does this all look right?

That is my new Landrover Discovery - 7 days old when we picked up the caravan!

Flowers from Jayco!

Checking out the electric brakes with the Jayco technician.

I so LOVE this electric slide-out lounge

We moved the microwave from above that right hand bench (where I thought it would be in the way of my head when preparing food) to under the stove. We hardly ever use a microwave. In the last expanda it was mainly used to store bowls!

Cosy bunk beds.

Our bed

Love having a separate basin and shower. No washing machine for us though. So many cupboards, I didn't know what to put in them!

New mirrors as the old ones wouldn't fit the Landrover.

That looks simply fantastic! Love the tyre shine on the van and the flowers were a nice touch.

With regard to hook up, I notice your chains could be tighter (best to have them as tight as you can whilst still allowing for full turning circle) and they should also be crossed over. I've never had the weight distribution hardware so can't help you there.

First night at Lane Cove National Park. Funnily enough, we only live 7 minutes away from the campsite! Made it handy for the several trips to get more stuff.

We actually ordered this table to be longer so it is flush with the couch but it wasn't ready. It is now and they are shipping it out to us.
Haha, like the size of our T-bones???
P1060295.jpg
New sheets and doonas for the kids beds. We have so much storage space, I have bought flanellette sheets as well as cotton sheets, depending on the season! Sheer extravagence!
It is a bit of a pain keeping the bed tidy when the single doona is so much wider than the single bunk, but I will learn to live with it.
Way back when we had a boat, we had custom made sheets but that seems a bit over the top with a caravan!

Yes! We had 8 people around the table for dessert! Very, very impressive.

Our family (except for the 2 dogs who weren't allowed in the National Park)

Thanks, I passed that on to my husband. He is not sure if there is enough length to cross them over but he will try.

Here is something weird - we have one tyre with blue writing and the other THREE have white writing! Everything about them looks the same, just the colour of the writing! Makes my OCD flare up a little! Anyone know anything about this?

Just check your table has all it's screws we were missing one so I found out (and I don't think the ones they originally put in were long enough)! I ever so slightly lent on table to get to window, it snapped where the screws go in underneath flung up and smacked me in the side of the head lol. It hurt.

Congrats with the van it looks awesome!!! In relation to the chains we run ours inside the WDH bars and are crossed over to sort of cradle the hitch. Hope that makes sense.

congrats and I really like that expanda with a slide out. its a fantastic van see how many you can get on the seat.

With the Discovery I did not think you could use a WDH with the Land Rover Air suspension. You might want to check.
We where told it will fight with the cars self levelling in the Disco so you cannot use it. We have a Discovery 3

Love your new van and tug. Very flash.
Question regarding the vans spare wheel. Was it fitted to the rear bar as standard or did you request it there. Also how were the towing mirrors for ease of fitment and view whilst in use.
