Put it on the lowest resistance setting if you have a few but a lot of meters only have one. If you have any problems, send me a picture of the meter. Make sure when you are taking a reading that you are not also touching the contact points of the meter leads or the anode and hws system otherwise you are measuring your body's resistance as well
Pete

OK i put it on 2000 ohms setting placed the negative probe on the back of the anode and the positive probe on the socket the anode plugs into.
At first it was reading 001 then i scratch the probes a bit to get a better connection it went to 000 i think i have done it correctly whats your thoughts?
Thanks for your help

Bahahahahha, truly classic, looks similar to the jack Jayco provide and they are bloody useless.

The more techo will need a description of the panel specs including size to put into the slide rule to find its magic. How have you hooked it up ? Direct to battery ? Laying flat on roof is not optimum position either, efficiency can be downgraded heaps.

Need to remember that the output of solar panels differs between brands. I have an 80watt kycocera on the roof of the van giving out nearly 4 amps in winter with the sun in the north and a 120 watt folding no name brand not even giving that out much.

My slide rule says you should get between 8 - 12, with so many variables though ?? I would have the battery fully charged then run everything for the day with the panel providing the juice then at end of day shut everything down and 10 mins later see what the battery state is, the practical view is always better than the theory, if the battery is in pretty good shape with everything running then you should be laughing, sometimes the view on paper is never what it's like in the real world. I've actually never checked what my portable job does , it keeps things charged so I don't worry, it's only 80w. Oh always do a battery check about 10 mins after you shut down the loads gives a better picture.

I'm no electric guru so please point out my error's gentlemen................

I know I have a factory fitted solar panel on the roof
I dont remember what its supposed to put out
I haven't flattened the battery, or run out of electrons while camping
