The kids have been keeping us up to date with the c&@p weather down there @mfexpanda - no heater needed up here!!!
We are still having a ball - 4 months down and 2 to go!
Currently at Mt Isa and then heading to Adels Grove and Karumba before heading to Cairns - hopefully get a bit more use of the boat down the east coast (away from the crocs!!!)
Stay warm down there !!!
Good to hear.
This is how warm it is right now , don't laugh , at home

Okay thats enough of the pics, the poor wretches that have to work for a living may stop working...................and head up north, us pensioners need them working, so we can enjoy the sunshine.

Oh and Crusty181 needs to find places to use his diesel furnace.

Evening all ... once again, we have seen so much and loved every minute - 4 1/2 months down and 6 weeks to go :-(
image.jpg

When a pilot vehicle says 'please pull over when you can safely ... Two 7.2 metre loads coming through ... We did!!!
Beautiful free camp on the river bank at Gregory Downs before heading in to Adels Grove and Lawn Hill
image.jpg

We stayed at Adels Grove for a couple of nights and went in to Lawn Hill for the day, hired a canoe and canoed the gorges ... What a beautiful place (and so nice to be able to swim in 'croc free' water!!!
image.jpg

More of Lawn Hill
image.jpg

Up to Karumba where we put in the tinny ... no luck but did see a big croc that was not there on the way back ... Jacki was a bit edgy then!!!
image.jpg

Life size replica of a croc called 'Krys' ... hmmm 3.4 metre tinny, 8 metre croc - glad we didn't 'happen' upon one of these!!!
Spent the night at Bedrock Caravan Park at Mount Surprise on the way to FNQ ... train goes past twice a week and we lucked it
image.jpg

Headed to Port Douglas for 3 nights and glad to see the sugar cane trains still run!
The beach looks like Thailand or Bali with all the chairs and umbrellas .... we did go and watch the cane toad races at the Iron Hut which was followed by karaoke which we DID not participate in!!!
image.jpg

From Port Douglas we headed out to Mossman Gorge which was lovely to see and ....
image.jpg

did a day trip out to Cape Tribulation .... the discovery centre was great to see but very busy everywhere ... not used to the crowds in FNQ!!!
image.jpg

Arrived in Innisfail today for a couple of nights - there are cassowary signs everywhere but we only saw one in the Daintree until we got to Ella Beach today - this guy was just strutting his stuff on the beach ... really like the laid back lifestyle in this little town ... until next time :)

Hi all ... another 3 weeks down and only 3 to go - time has flown ✈️
A few more flicks for you to look at!
image.jpg

The gorgeous Art Deco buildings at Innisfail
image.jpg

Innisfail and surrounds
image.jpg

Paronella Park - Baz and I were fascinated by this place
image.jpg

Not too many photos at Mission Beach ... pelted down rain so nanny nap was had!!!
image.jpg

Some of the beaches at Bowen - this was the town where part of the movie 'Australia' was filmed
image.jpg

Airlie Beach on the Whitsundays
image.jpg

We did an ocean rafting day around the Whitsundays where we did some snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef and then had lunch at Whitehaven beach
image.jpg

Some of the corals
image.jpg

Lunch time visitors at Whitehaven Beach
image.jpg

The town of 1770 - another beautiful place
image.jpg

Hervey Bay - we had a fantastic site here and did a day tour whale watching on a catamaran - thoroughly recommend Blue Dolphin Tours - Peter the owner is passionate about the whales
image.jpg

A few of the whales we saw - such majestic creatures
image.jpg

The 'Sunshine' Coast didn't quite live up to the name!!! Went up to Noosa for a look and caught up with @Flossymk1 and family for a quick chat. Down to Burleigh Heads now for a few nights and then continue to trudge down south ... still loving every minute and so don't want to go home!!!
Until next time
Jac & Baz

Well ... we've been back for 6 weeks - and back at work for 4 of these! Had an absolute ball - travelled 26,412 kms, set up camp 73 times and spent 181 days on the road ... planning for the next trip! Van held up well and so did the car.
Was great catching up with @Colsar at Lake Tyers!
A small snippet below of where we went ... our favourite places ... Definately WA and the Kimberley ... next trip, either SA or Cape York
PS NOT a big fan of the whole work thing!
