Evening all ... once again, we have seen so much and loved every minute - 4 1/2 months down and 6 weeks to go :-(
When a pilot vehicle says 'please pull over when you can safely ... Two 7.2 metre loads coming through ... We did!!!
Beautiful free camp on the river bank at Gregory Downs before heading in to Adels Grove and Lawn Hill
We stayed at Adels Grove for a couple of nights and went in to Lawn Hill for the day, hired a canoe and canoed the gorges ... What a beautiful place (and so nice to be able to swim in 'croc free' water!!!
More of Lawn Hill
Up to Karumba where we put in the tinny ... no luck but did see a big croc that was not there on the way back ... Jacki was a bit edgy then!!!
Life size replica of a croc called 'Krys' ... hmmm 3.4 metre tinny, 8 metre croc - glad we didn't 'happen' upon one of these!!!
Spent the night at Bedrock Caravan Park at Mount Surprise on the way to FNQ ... train goes past twice a week and we lucked it
Headed to Port Douglas for 3 nights and glad to see the sugar cane trains still run!
The beach looks like Thailand or Bali with all the chairs and umbrellas .... we did go and watch the cane toad races at the Iron Hut which was followed by karaoke which we DID not participate in!!!
From Port Douglas we headed out to Mossman Gorge which was lovely to see and ....
did a day trip out to Cape Tribulation .... the discovery centre was great to see but very busy everywhere ... not used to the crowds in FNQ!!!
Arrived in Innisfail today for a couple of nights - there are cassowary signs everywhere but we only saw one in the Daintree until we got to Ella Beach today - this guy was just strutting his stuff on the beach ... really like the laid back lifestyle in this little town ... until next time
