YouI for me, as all my other stuff is with them. They are also quite negotiable, don't take the first quote tell them to try harder.

When we got the rig, checked out everyone, CIL was actually dearer than RACQ and Youi was winning hands down until they said they wanted my credit card number so they could renew my policy when it was due, in case I forgot ?? Wouldn't budge so stuff 'em and we stayed with RACQ and then 4 weeks later got sideswipped by a truck and while the excess on car and van was big no problems getting things fixed and they even paid up straight away for an accessory for the Jeep that wasn't available, add in road service just ring em they tow away, fix it and ring you when it's ready, sweet.

I am currently trying to arrange insurance for our new Starcraft and AAMI won't insure it as it is iver $49,000!!!
Have heard a few things about AAMI, there are several car repairers that won't deal with them here in Adelaide.
We went with RAA, seemed like good cover, reasonable excess and no 'bad experience' stories we could find.

I found CIL to be cheaper than RACV, I rang YOUI and they gave me a great price but the amount that they cover isn't as good and also they wanted to push me into signing up with them when i was on the phone and didn't want to take no for an answer. I have been getting calls from them for over three days now even though I have said that I am going with another company. WOW

I had an issue with AAMI claiming lost mobile phone when it was listed in my contents policy. Was with them for over 20yrs with no claims. Closed all 6 policies and got on the phone to youi after reading all PDS. I rode them hard for multi policy discounts and saved $1200 for all my insurances for the year. Moral of the story is find a company that you have not heard bad things about and then negotiate multi policy discount. Then when renewing comes around do the same as they all jack up the prices as most people can't be bothered shopping around or negotiating each year.

Hi everyone. As an insurance agent I am a bit biased so i will not give you the company i work for. What piece of advice i will give is both with caravans and vehicles speak to your preferred repairer as to who they think is the best company they deal with. As that is where you will be getting your work done. Paying an extra $100 or so per year to know you will get things done correct is a small price to pay.
Good luck

But with Youi, they have your bank details and will debit your account when it's due, thats the bit I don't like...........they wouldn't budge, I had to give them my details, I said send me a bill and I'll pay it, they wouldn't so they could get stuffed.

I like that actually, at least if I forget to do something then it's all still paid (even if I've not shopped around) so I remain covered. But I'm unlikely to forget and have no loyalty as I've not found an insurance company that really rewards loyalty (except Swan insurance who I used to have my motorbike with - but they only dropped their price because I phoned and complained about the price, they then rewarded my 10 years loyalty by giving comprehensive insurance for the price of 3rd party - but then again, the bike was only worth $4k)

most of everything we have insured (health, houses, content, cars) are with HBF - as it was a good price- at the time
last couple of years they have been "under" performing as an insurance company

the Van (Flamingo before and Expanda now) are with RAC..... good price and not stuffed me around on anything - yet............

I went with Suncorp over Youi as the they offerred $1000 contents cover, but it cost extra and Suncorp had new for old replacement if it was a write off in the first 2 years. Youi had nothing like this. I managed to haggle Suncorp down a bit to get it about $40 difference to the Youi price, happy with that for the extras we got in the Suncorp policy.

With the starcraft went with CIL over the previous van with AAMI. The AAMI rep on phone suggested them after they wouldn't insure our new starcraft for its purchase price or anywhere near it WTF!

I am a bit of a NRMA fan but really we have claimed Jack in all these years.

@crackacoldie yours would be tough one for any insurance company TbH . I hope you get it cause your a straight up guy and deserve it, but really you want the insurance company to be a bit tight rather than pay out willy nilly and raise premiums accordingly.

NRMA for us, as the multipolicy discount couldn't be matched by the others, plus im a share holder and I think Suncorp and NRMA are all owned by IAG. have had a few claims and no dramas, yet.

Agreed, although am disappointed they only took the repairers gold plate option. Quote to insurance company $12500, actual repair cost for me to pay $850. Pretty disappointing that the assessor didn't ask for alternatives.

Way of the world nowadays Cracka. It's all spread sheets and screwing the end user. Look at the cost of MV parts? Once a time insurers would refuse certain brands based on parts cost or slug you now they don't care. I know people that have a stupid driveway that floods their garage then floods there Family room happens about approx every 3-4 years! The insurance just pays out! One time replacing the fabric lounge with a leather! Premiums rise and they pay it. We all pay because we are apathetic.

Bugga, guess what turned up in the mail.............RACQ $1100 for the Jeep (9)and van (5) full coverage, yikes, up about $200, But from initial searching doesn't seem a lot, may have to eat humble pie and give Youii a ring.........try Defence Service Homes Insurance and see what they cost.
