Water bombing choppers flying overhead all afternoon dumping water on a out of control fire at Gateshead/ Redhead area just near me at work. Lucky the westerly winds was blowing it away but not good for residents......crazy times for spring!!
Wouldn't think anything was still burning around this area, clear skies as far as you can see at the moment, wind keeping any smoke away, just the occasional fly past of the choppers back to the stagging point at Bargo.
Every night at 6.30pm the helicopters all leave to head north (possibly Bankstown) as we're having dinner and the kids keep running from the table to have a look.
Thoughts to everyone affected by the fires. Down here in Southern Vic, I am thinking about putting the heater on as we are getting some wintery weather coming through still. I cannot believe the heat/weather up there. It worries me to think of what may happen when true summer comes.
