Drawbar modifications

HiGuys,

Haven't submitted for quite some time. Have been enjoying threads. Have performed some modifications to the draw bar to include a Generator box, jerry can holder and ability to remove spare wheel by creating drop down access. Spare wheel cut Jayco mounts and changed to a hinge on one side and bolt on other to hold up. All securely held and working well.

This is my second attempt, first time round I learnt the hard way that there's not much room between the top of the tyre and the bottom of the front bed. The space is only 40-50mm taller than the height of a standard jerry tin, so there's not much room to play with. I can get at the spare easy enough, hope it's strong enough.

I've only got a 70 litre fuel tank, so there are going to be times when I need more than that, but I'm thinking I could build a tool box to fit in the space where the jerries are for the times when I don't need the extra fuel.

I realise this a very old thread, but if you're still on the forum, who fabricated your gas cylinder holders?

G'day @D4DDave, I'm afraid Rowdman has not posted on the forum for nearly 4 years so you will probably not get a direct answer from him. Maybe another member may be able to help.

Problem solved

Now I'm thinking about replacing the original one too. That way I'll have enough room to install a toolbox above the spare tyre.

If anyone has any ideas on a "quick release" toolbox, please drop me a line.

Would love one of these wondering if you have any ?
