If you look a few weeks out they are sold out.. Seeing more and more companies forcing people to use half of their annual leave over Christmas.
You either stay at home or pay $$$$$ to holiday with kids.

I love to get in Portarlington like our friends do think under $4500 and they have Nov until end of April.
Just need to wait for someone to die like the MCG members Same as other friends who have the same spot on the bay or Ocean Groove every year.

Ill get a 4th job, and if I start saving now and get a small loan later I could maybe do the Queens Birthday long weekend in 2026 on a shared site

Its either the Bellarine or a 8 month around the world cruise on the QEII

They're sure busy counting. Cha Ching. If I owned a caravan park, and I could get away with it Id be charging you caravan smucks $500/night (off season). Embrace capitalism

in July School holidays was prob 40% full sites.. I say 90% or more full cabins.
So they making $... They drop the price in quiet times.
As said many companies now making people take 2-3 weeks off at Christmas.. so your using 7-12 days of Annual leave.
If your got kids on holidays you can stay at home or book somewhere..

We've always found Xmas to be the only time caravan parks are full. School holidays are never an issue, except the the first week of the Easter school break. That week is manic, but the second week is always a vacuum. As you say @davemc 4 weeks per year holidays, with Xmas shutdowns doesnt leave a lot of time left. A lot of folk them add the rest of their annual leave days to public holiday long weekends to make them a bit longer.

When I was working as a humble truckie , keeping the nations tables laden with food, there was no way I could afford those sort of prices, when we had a tribe of 4 we free camped as fuel was the biggest killer to long trips.........
