Yeah its changing on some vehicles down here for next year but mine just misses out for this year. The horse float rego came in and that doesn't need a label anymore.

All light vehicles will no longer need a rego sticker as of 1st Jan 2014.

Taken from Vicroads FAQ
What happens if my registration expires on 31 December 2013? Do I take my sticker off on 1 January 2014?
As from 1 January 2014 there will be no requirement to display a sticker. You will be able to take the existing sticker off.

Here is a bit of an update on the tyres and and suspension since fitting them before heading to Queensland.

So far the suspension has covered nearly 15k and 8k of that towing the Expanda. One trip through outback Queensland with varies road conditions from sandy roads to corrugations and bitumen.

Another trip was across to Pambula too, which was all sealed. A few trips with motorbike in the back also, so its had a bit of a test so far.

Its handled everything really well and has settled in with no signs of drop in height at all other than the initial settling in period which was expected. I went with the 0-300kg rated rear springs as I didn't want to have a harsh ride when empty because when not holidaying or touring its empty in the back.

I can't compare other brands to these on the BT but so far I'm happy. :thumb:

On another note the Cooper ST Maxx's have done the same K's and they have also worn well so far with no chipping etc and have had 1 rotation at about 9k.

Here are a few photos of what I have been upto.

There is better pics on the dlsr so sorry for these ones as they are just off my phone.
After reading through all the info about different isolaters etc and some info about DCDC units I ended up sourcing an original Mazda dual battery kit for the right price. What also lead me in this direction besides the great price was that the DCDC needed to be near the battery and I preferred my unit to be under the bonnet.

The other reason for the oe kit is it comes with everything I needed from the Red Arc isolater to all the wiring, fuses, isolater mounting plate, relay and steel battery box for the battery to be securely mounted in tub. Another feature is a button that enables the isolater to link the 2 batteries if I ever need to jump start the BT from the auxiliary.
I personally know 3 people with this set up and have never had any issues.

You can see the link button here, its mounts neatly in the mounting plate next to the isolater.

The battery is secured in this steel box that bolts to existing mounting points from the tie down points.

Inside the box I mounted a fuse block, just need to tidy it up when I get a chance. The fuse block is stuck on with 3m double sided tape

I mounted 2 power sockets in the side of the box, one is a cig lighter for my led light the other is a positive socket that Narva make. This enables the Engle plug to screw in for a 100% contact. There is more room for more sockets if needed.

Giving the Engle a run, its been way to long...........

So after 31k I thought I better get the wheel alignment checked 8-) as I haven't had one since the tyres went on. They have worn evenly but I have been fussy with rotation too. The camber and castor were both spot on and the toe in toe out was only slightly out.
I also got the tyres rotated and balanced whilst there just to make sure it was all good.

With that done it was off to Mazda to pick up some slim line window deflectors, something I've been meaning to get since having the BT :blah: I was impressed when opening them to find out they are Australian Made :clap2: Fitment was quick and easy too.

Not really a mod but a handy addition to the BT. I purchased a tyre plug repair kit from the Wandin 4x4 show today. Its one of those things that you know could come in handy when out touring around the country side. Its also a peace of mind thing knowing you have it with you.
A few stands had various brands for sale and the best deal I found was this show special for $20
