Couple of small hiccups @crackacoldie but luckily not a show stopper :( Things just to remind you of this trip when telling the stories around the camp fire or at happy hour :very_drunk:

Keep the updates and :photo: coming and enjoy the rest of the trip!!

Had an early departure from Walgett, stopped at Moree for Fuel and replace the damaged van tyre. No Standard unleaded available only 98 octane premium at $1.409. Tyre was $220 for a Maxxis AT. Then a nice run into the Gold Coast.

Set up camp at Tallebudgera Creek Caravan Park. Nice park and photos to follow.

Pop top roof not lifting properly and an oily feel on van wall, plus awning roller pulled out from end, found a strut to blame. Rang Jayco Gold Coast, no parts available, found a mob called Struts R Us, who are coming out to replace today and cheaper than Jayco. Off to the big green shed for some replacement awning screws and that will be fixed today too.

Went to Outback Spectacular last night, great show and a good feed, well worth going..

Can't believe full sun light at 5am, haven't you Queenslanders heard of Day Light Saving????

No.....we haven't.

Just worried about our curtains fading too soon. :o Doesn't worry me as I'm usually up and about by 5.30 as it's a great time of day.....too hot after 10 but that's the same everywhere......and the late afternoons are superb at the moment. The garden is benefitting!

Heard they expect a good surf this weekend so that could be interesting for you, in between cheerleading duties.

Enjoy

Slight change of plans for the rest of the trip. We are no longer heading to the Sunshine Coast, instead heading home via the Hunter Valley, to check out Schools and find somewhere to live as I have accepted a job just out of Singleton. For me, we get back to adelaide on sunday the 4th of December and then I head back to Singleton on the 10th. The family will move sometime in January. Very nervously excited.

Sounds like a very valid reason for foregoing the Sunshine Coast.

And exciting for you and the family. You'll miss the Barossa!

Been a busy couple of days. Dragged kicking and screaming to the shops on Friday followed by a short trip to Sea world as we had free tickets.

Returned to the park to find a large group had set up behind us. The language was shocking, even for a sailor mouth like me, So I approached them to ask them to tone it down a little. Around 10pm the music and language cranked again, so again I approached them and the music was turned down.

Saturday we left early for Cheer competitions, I returned to the park at lunch time to find the group packing up, Inwas promptly thanked for ruining the under 9's Christmas party. Wasn't me I am sure most of the park was complaining as many were out to make sure they left.

Back to Cheer where the youngest performed twice in the afternoon with one of her teams placing 5th out of 17 competing.

Singleton and surrounds is not a bad part of the world to hang out, some good camping options in the surrounding hills. What industry will you be working in.
Mining. We are looking at east Maitland as being the preferred living place as the high school seems better, but will need to visit both areas and see.
