Weather is much better ...must have known you were coming.

It really is the most beautiful time of year ...balmy 28 today, cool breeze and no storms!

Enjoy the drive.....@crackacoldie

Enjoy the trip Cracka, we have been several times, only once with the Panda in 2014 albeit in June/July.
Loved it and will go again soon. Just back from NZ and still need to fit in the SE Vic Lakes District some time in the next 12 months. Enjoy! Will sit back and wait to see your travel blog and pics!

Consider yourself duly piped in when you arrive but there's a hell of a lot more to qld than thousands of drunken drugged up schoolies.....and dodgy theme parks.

We were away this time last year and completely forgot about schoolies so were dismayed to find our favourite campground infested with them.

Never again!

It's GOF time again.

Left Manna Hill to a beautiful sunrise this morning.

Headed into Broken Hill for a bite of breakfast. Stopped to show the family some of the places I frequented while driving B-doubles.

The trip through to Cobar was long yet um-eventful. Fuel in Cobar was $1.34, far too high compared to Yunta.

From Cobar we followed the GPS which led us to Nyngan then north to Walgett. Not sure I trust Google Maps any more, it was a fun diversion lots of dirt that eventually turned to two wheel ruts. Hit a roo mid afternoon, it rolled under the car bending the tie rod on the way through. A repair job for the apprentice mechanic and I once on the Gold Coast.

Arrived at Walgett and stopped at the Primative Camp Ground for dinner. My son(the apprentice) did a tyre check before we moved on to find a night spot. He called me over to show me a split in the side wall of one of the van tyres. Good thing the apprentice came with us to change it, pity it was the new tyre on the van. Decided to camp here overnight rather than move in the dark.

The apprentice hard at work.
