I've only used it with the vecro loops around the support arm and peged down to the ground, worked very well as a wind break, next time I'm away I'll try it in the anti flapper, I was also thinking about a couple of extra eyelets in a similar spot.

Decided to go the tight arse option for now and go with the silver tarp with some sail track sewn down one side as per @achjimmy .
Have gone with a 2.4m x 3.0m tarp with track sewn down the 2.4m side, which will slide into our aussie traveler AFK bar. Reckon 2.4m is wide enough?

Yep and take some of those eyelet punchs with you we make ours bend down so it can also be a privacy screen as well .

I found some sail track webbing stuff on eBay that we might use for the future. Easy then to add canvas, tarp stuff, shade cloth ...whatever....to it.
Can't do the link...sorry ...but it's about $2.50 a metre and saves having to do the rope bit yourself.

It looks useful as you could just sew, Velcro or attach any way to a tarp, shade cloth or anything that takes your fancy. To me, that's easier than trying to sew a sail track in myself.
We're thinking of putting some eyelets in a short piece and using that to attach a clothesline overnight.....now that we will have a double sailtrack.
What a luxury....gotta use it.

Tarp front awning porch works well, getting a workout today 
No spreader bar. It did flap when I had poles out at far corners but hardly any flapping when they are set in one hole with the end pulled down. Gives nice sun/rain protection this way too.
