Certainly hope you folks down Brissie way dodged any damage and haven't lost power at least not for very long..................
Maybe at Ferny Grove (NW Brisbane), we may have dodged a bullet!!. No visible damage around here and no sustained wind damage either. Wind still sporadic with heavy rain at times. Our thoughts go out to those who have been less fortunate.

Upper Coomera still raining and gusty winds, no obvious damage, still dry insde but power out about 9:30 last night and still off. Keeping phone and iPad charged but internet out, using phone as a hotspot. Gas cooker from van so can still make a coffee so haven’t bitten anyone’s head off. Helping neighbours with generators and garage doors, moving furniture etc. No indication when power will be up so just cooking food from freezer, (had prawns for lunch to make sure they weren’t thrown out ).

Hey Ian, an up date for you!! We may have dodged that earlier bullet, but we may be hit with a ricochet! Wind gusts picking up and more driving rain again and more frequently. Still have not lost power, but have camping gas cookers handy and rechargeable LED lights at the ready. Could be back to "camping" in the house in the future? Glad @chartrock is safe and has things under control on the Gold Coast. He could be without power for a few days. No visible house damages yet or trees down in this area at the moment. A lot of members in Gold Coast areas may be slow to answer owing extensive and serious damage to power distribution. Stay safe at Cooloola Cove.

Internet must be slow as nothing on here earlier this morning ......
@chartrock Glad to hear that so far so good down your way Paul, didn't want to ring if you had no power etc .................... gets too bad you know you can hot foot it up here..............

@Boots in Action , hope you came through the night okay, looking at Energex Outages and lots of the Brissie area is out and may be awhile by the looks, brother in law at Petrie, Gdaughter at Lawnton no power or anything so same all over the place I imagine.

Watched a big storm off the coast here at 0100 , stretched from Hervey bay to DI, for us it stayed out around Fraser thankfully but is still out there now at 1100, I imagine @Hitting the road is in amongst it there, hope his feet stayed dry...........

Wishing all our mates affected a safe time during this weather..................

Power back on around 2:30 am so getting back to normal but rain has not stopped long enough to go out and check the gauge. Looking at it through I would guess over 200mm since midday yesterday. Our village pontoon on the Coomera River this morning. It was destroyed in the 2023 Christmas Day storm and was only replaced about the middle of last year (For the third time in 5 years). They won’t learn.

Hervey Bay got more than 300mm of rain over 6 hours yesterday morning...rain started falling in earnest around 5.30am and did not stop until close to midday. A fair bit of flash flooding and plenty of water over many roads. Parts of HB flooded that hadn't ever flooded before apparently. We were ok, gardens got a good drenching...:)
Didn't lose power at any time either...

4mm over the last week ..................... need to water the garden...
Hi @Drover, @chartrock and @Hitting the road, well it had to happen!! All was going fine in Ferny Grove until 2100 hrs Saturday 8th March and then the very gusty winds knocked out our power and the rain was !issing down at the same time. So switched to "camping mode" only this time inside a house. Managed to get through while all around us was black. It is very frustrating to see some areas only a couple of blocks away with power still on and lit up like Christmas trees including my eldest daughter and other daughter only 2 suburbs away still with power!!! Our area was slow to get energised/repaired and only came on at 1200 hours today Monday 10th March. Freezer contents spoiled and lost whilst contents of kitchen fridge survived with the help of our camping 3-way fridges. Also looks like our solar controller which was turned off (correctly) during the cyclone may have had water ingress as now refusing to start up properly showing "isolation fault" and a big red light when correct start up procedure initiated. Looks like some insurance claims. Only minor problems compared to others with trees down and through the roofs, not to mention Flooding!!!
Rainfall from 0800 hours Sunday to 0800 hours Today (Sunday) was 315mm which needed several times emptying the gauge and not forgetting the 200mm which fell in the two proceeding days!! It is pretty wet around here but at least we are not flooded out like some others. Got to be thankful for that.
Ian @Drover, YOU are the one that dodged the bullet at Cooloola Cove and did not even have to get your feet wet!! Gotta win some times!

Oh mate , feel for you and here I had 2 Gennies all ready to go, I have a mate that lives at Donnybrook and he said similar about the rain but at least his power hung on, though some others I know lost their fridge/freezer contents .................. after the Locker Valley floods of 2010 we made sure we had a genny handy for the 2011 floods, then when retired added a Honda to the mix for touring, hence the 2 .....................

The solar controller on our old place was on a wall in the open, so I built a house for it to keep the weather and sun off it which a sparky said probably saved it ............

Hope thats it for the rain for you all, we certainly dodged it this time and Im thankful, don't really want to go through another flood affair, been there done that twice though we did build on a hill with flooding in mind, so just had water views not so this time around but there's always next time, bush fires here are the scary thing ........ our phone tower dropped off yesterday but I doubt it was because of rain..............

Get the insurance stuff in ASAP to get things moving.
Stay Safe................

I suppose they will just do the same again when they repair it .......................... since theres a ramp should make it so it uncouples and you drag it up the ramp out of the way. .............. probably require numerous folk in orange jackets, certificates and permits and other WHS BS.................
