Can you clarify about your 3 t towing ability.
My NW Pajero has max tow ball weight of 250Kg up to 2.5 t and up to 180Kg to 3 t. Similar to my old NP Pajero.
So I assume your tow will be a Triton or similar, not a Pajero.
I have just had a major drama and cancelled Jayco van order with excessive tow ball mass on a van I ordered. It had an Empty (Tow) Ball Mass(263Kg) after Jayco info said 175Kg, so be careful about the 3 t Mitsubishi towing ability. For more info see my thread.

So in summary please be very careful about Mitsubishi 3 tonne towing.:adoration:
Regards Terry

Correct Pajero has 250kg up to 2500kg and 180kg over 2500kg, triton and challenger have 300kg - 3000kg

This is how I understand it, but could be wrong I am not a mechanical engineer
( stand clear :director:danger - I am an applied scientist  and former dockyard worker :fish2:).

One would hope the 2015 Pajero might be able to tow 3t with 300kg ball weight.
Not too sure what it is about with Pajero, I believe the Prado just stops at 2500Kg with a ball weight of 250Kg.
It is probably so Mitsubishi Australia can say a Pajero can legally tow 3 t, I am not sure, but rumour has it in NZ it is 300kg to 3 t for the Pajero.

My professional engineering advice recently was it should not be too hard to upgrade physically, about $200 worth of welding in strengthening tow bar and attachments, but about $700+ in engineering certification costs.

It should be noted that two engineers also said to me despite upgrading the tow bar and attachments there is still the size of the rear axel/ bearings/etc to consider and what loading they were designed for and the overall running gear safe load.
Hope this helps, happy for anyone else to provide more technical info.:yo:
Regards
Terry
