Dog comes with us due to being my mate and not having a boarding kennel near by....The Cat...well those thinking are frigging bullet prove. Fill its bowl up with dry food and the thing is always waiting for us when we get home. Grrrrŕrr, how does he do it... Im sure the wife gets someone to check on it.

Mostly our 2 retired greyhounds come with us but it helps to have 2 older kids (21 and 17) that will look after them when it's inconvenient for us to take them. We have been involved in the Greyhound Adoption Program of SA (GAPSA) for over 6 years now and we are part of the GAPSA doggy sitting group so when a GAP fosterer or GAP adopting family has a dog needing to be doggy sat, that's what we do. The vast majority of retired greys have spent their whole lives in kennels so we do what we can to ensure they don't have to go back into one when their racing careers are over.

Weekends and certain trips our four legged ferral comes with us, she travels well and loves the car. if we need/want to do something where she can't go we too contact a local vet and ask about doggy day care..
At other times when we do bigger holiday trips etc, she goes back to the breeder we got her from where is get spoiled and gets to run around with her sister, mother, cousins etc
