Some of our pics from Echuca. We started off by free camping just outside of Echuca at a spot called Betts Beach but after the wind picking up again on our second day there and a large bow falling from a gum a little too close to our van, we packed up quickly and got the hell out of there a night earlier then planned. We moved into Rich River Caravan Park a onto an unpowered site for one night then moved to our booked ensuite site for three more nights. Again we put Ruby into a local kennel which we found from ringing the local vet. K9kondos was the place and so much better then the last place it was still hard to leave Ruby for the day but we felt better about this place. We spent this dog free day with a cruise on the PS Pevensey the oldest still operating paddle steamer and the one use in the mini series All The Rivers Run. The photo of the engine above is of the PS Pevensey. After a stroll down the shopping area we ended up at the Shamrock Hotel which claims to have the biggest Parma menu any where and with 404 options I reckon their right.
We found Echuca to be a strange place with the layout of the town, and boy do they love their parking meters. It might be an idea for the local council to consider issuing visitors with a sticker giving them free parking. The reason for this is on one occasion we had no change for the meter so we ducked into a shop to get some and was told they would not open the till without a purchase in a rude tone, it took us five shops before we could get some change. This does not do much for tourism.

We finished up back in SA at the Riverband Caravan Park Renmark for the last three nights of our trip. This turned out to be a great park, very clean and much quieter then the Big 4 park next door that we have used before. Great river access for the kayaks and new shower blocks lovely grassed sites. Our daughter really hit it off with the park owners daughter and we could hardly separate them the whole time.

I give this park a big wrap a great way to finish off our trip.

But now back home and the van tucked away and back to work on Tuesday bugger. Humm where to next.
