Hi guys,

Trying to decide whether to buy a breakfast plate for our Q2000 or get a half hotplate if anyone has any advice.

Thanks :)

If not on a hurry, wait for Aldi's tepanake plate ....or see if any stores still have them. They fit the Q200 and far less expensive that Weber accessories.

But don't know when they'll be available.

So, if in a hurry, go the Weber half and half.

Hi @Nolas, we've the half plate in our 300, and the breakfast plate in the 100. Both work equally as well. I reckon the half plate is better though, it's a permanent fixture and you can cook anything on it that you can cook on the grill, saves carrying an extra few kgs...

We have just bought a new Black BabyQ 1200 and didn't go for the half plate this time, we are using the larger plate that I had with the 220 and also the large frying pan but there is only the two of us now the Kids don't want to come anymore (Yay!) We do have the Half plate on the 320 FamilyQ at home though works well for larger gatherings

We only use the half plate at home in the 200 but have the full plate and breakfast plate for the Q100 in the van... Only because a full plate wasn't in stock when we got the 100 but needed it later on for larger cookups that could not be done on the brekkie one.

If starting out again I'd only go the full plate for a Q100 and the half plate as a minimum for the Q200!

Never used a frypan in weber. I always thought it was for direct cooking only and our frypan wouldn't fit in with lid closed.

Am I missing something?

$59.95 for their frypan?

I might try my pan and see if I can save some $$$.

Their speciality stuff is way overpriced...talk about upsell.

I reckon if you use a good heavy bottom frypan it should be ok. Now I need to see if they still recommend closing the lid with it. I've been retrained to that method so would hate to change back again.

Think I'll just stick to hotplates!!!! Another thing I want to try though is see if our small CI camp oven will fit in the little Q100?

you can close the lid with it.
It is overprice and I would not have bought it had I bought the full hotplate first.Have been using the hotplate 3-4 times a week for the last 5 weeks since we havn't had a functioning kitchen.
I think you can buy cast iron frying pans with fold in handles in camping stores, not sure of pricing though
