Deano we got our cover from Jayco store, its waterproof and mildew proof. Not sure what its called, something with coast in the name I think. The mods are the custom made tool box he;s having fitted, so gas bottles are being moved. He is also having his pvc tube fitted as well. All being done in Sept when he gets home.

Got a "Prestige" cover through Jayco dealer. So far so good. Tapes and velcro underneath, cords at each end. Zippered door section (can be rolled up) for access. Need to watch for sharp edges and protect cover or reinforce these spots (came with material to do this). Prices vary widely, so suggest hunt around.

Yeah Xpandafan I got one of those too for our 17.56. Cost 300 bucks and I just put it on the van 2 days ago, hopefully does the job.

Ours is under a carport also so we hope to get a few years from the cover.

cheers

Rehashing an old thread but was wondering if anyone pops the top and cleans the vinyl roof and also extends the awning and washes that with a sponge etc?

Also assuming chamois dry everything?

Pop the top and clean the vinyl skirt?... Yes every now and then if it needs it but usually just a wipe where needed. I give the roof seals and where they seat a good clean also.

Awning gets rolled out and cleaned with an RV Awning cleaner and a soft broom the same as @cruza driver after each trip. Just leave it all open to drip dry (Weather permitting)

Dishwashing detergent. Wet it down. Throw a few buckets of suds on for a while. Soft brush all over. Did mine three weeks ago and jeeze it made a difference. Mind you first time I've washed it since new in 2012. The end fibreglass needs a cut and polish but all the sides are as good as new.

Since 2012...:eek-53:...poor van. Mine gets a full wash after every trip. That includes when arriving at the destination (subject to water availability).

Have been using that FW1 stuff to finish off.

Every wash with a brush or rag is more abrasive than no wash. My idea is that the scratches do more harm than a bit of dirt on the outside, as long as you don't mind people looking at your van funny because it isn't clean...For those that have time to do a proper wash, polish, protectant coat/wax etc..... You may be helping your van...otherwise its just for looks. I'm Ocka.

Funny Really....

Lets be environmentally friendly....

If a shirt gets a little stain on it...

You can't wear it.... It may be clean.... But you cant wear it....Throw it out....

How pretentious is society????

Hi all, from what I understand, if you use a car wash make sure it's PH neutral or overtime the gel coat will tinged yellow. Most quality brad car wash is fine.

Just my 2 bobs worth !!
