Just saw the first TV add for the new Fortuner. They hit sale this Thursday.
It's going to be an interesting test drive against the Everest.
The media reviews last week suggested Toyota Australia only asked for 6000 unit allocation for the year, but now think they will sell double. So they might be scares. This may keep the Everest price up.

its a Diesel Kluger more :) Although tows more then the playdo and a bit smaller. I think it hit the FJ cruiser crowd as well.
How many SUV's does Toyota need :)
Been waiting for it and see what it is like. The Mux and Colorado7 might find it harder now with this and the Everest out.
Be interesting if pricing will fall on them.
Payload a bit of a worry though..

Price starts at $50k for auto which same as top range Mux and more then Colorado7. Although cheaper then Everest,

What's the payload on it, I have not seen those numbers. As that is one of the issues I had seen on the Everest - 693kg for the mid spec Trend. When you take fuel and ball load weights off that, does not leave much left for a big family.

Yep, I'm pretty interested too, pretty sure I will buy one of them. Eagerly awaiting the back to back test drive.
I think on paper, the Everest looks better - lightly more power and torque per kg, higher payload, and more safety tech. So as a tug, and a family wagon, it appears better. But... That all comes at a price, and I'm not sure I can stomach it.
So the test drive will be important!

Playdoh how would you live it down on this site :)
With the D3 we do 20's around town or 17's if I drive slow.. towing 22's..
Worked out with two trips to Queensland in the last 18 months done over 30k around half towing.
Even that many it's under $2k on fuel extra then what I seen diesels towing..
Although around town we save another couple of grand so it adds up.
The cheap skate part of me thinking 4x2 Mux as really we never go off road.. there around $33k.

Found this online a couple of weeks ago.
Took a screenshot of it for proof:D

It's a bit hard to read, but Everest Titanium $69,985 driveaway, reduced from $73,985 driveaway.
